Tyrantrum would still be weak to Dragon, Ice, Fighting, Ground and Steel type moves. Unless it's given a decent Physical Defense or Speed stat, it'll probably end up being the better choice just due to typing alone. Also, it is not doubly weak to any other type.

Amaura's Rock/Ice dual type, on the other hand, makes it stupid weak against many attacks. It's doubly weak to Steel and Fighting types (hiya Lucario) and normally weak against Rock, Ground, Water and Grass. It's special ability is nice, and is probably good with some moves, but I still don't think it'll prove enough to be a superior choice against a goddamned T-Rex.
