I've never seen a poker thread, so this is now it.
Let's discuss it. How you play, where you play, biggest win or loss, do you go on tilt? How do you get over tilt?
We could make it a bit of an advice thread too, share our strategies maybe even get some ring games going, play money or real.
Since there's so many kinds of poker, I'd like to mention I'm talking about Texas Holdem but all other forms are welcome. I've always been interested in learning how to play the one with dice, kinda crazy.
Anyway, To get the ball rolling, I'm playing on a pot limit table over on PKR. I get dealt a pair of queens, excellent. Big pre-flop raise, and I push out everyone but 2 players. Player A (we'll call this one) makes a re-raise. Player B makes his own re-raise! The pot is now about £20!
I call, and we see the flop, it comes down 4, K, 2. I make a bet half the size of the pot. Player A calls and player B folds. We see the turn card and pow it's a queen. I make a huge bet now and Player B re-raises! I raise him all in. He calls and we turn the cards on their backs. He has 4 and 2.
Brilliant I think, then we see the river card and it's a god damn 4.
I raged, hard. Why on earth would someone with a 4, 2 have stayed in pre-flop? Why stay in on the turn card?
[Edited due to my own stupidity, a lesson never to rage quit.]
I still won the hand but why on earth would he be playing with those cards anyway?
So then guys, your poker stories?
