While I don't really support any team over the other, it's always a wee bit interesting to see who actually wins, which you usually never hear the end of, whoever it ends up being.

Poland, because I've got Polish mates and I've got Greek mates, and it's more fun watching my Polish mates heap shit onto the Greeks after these things. But I'm a bastard like that.

Anyway, since obviously Australia isn't playing, I guess I support England since my mum is English. I don't care enough to follow another team once they get knocked out. I'll just support whoever is wearing the brightest colours in the finals.

Are you saying Poland are the poor guys in a game between Poland and Greece?
Poland is actually one of the strongest and most rapidly growing economies in the west. Years of heavy investment in education is paying off, with good help from the European Investment Fund. They avoided most of the mistakes that so many other EU countries are paying dearly for now.

I'm curious where their investment in education went, I had schooling in Warsaw, and they are obscenely antiquated in their teaching methods. Teachers have just begun to accept powerpoints, and even then they don't give it to the class. Hell I had over half my teachers still write crap on blackboards. Also a system of higher education that has retakes and commissions is a joke, I forget the exact term but it falls under things like test-retest reliability. You can't make tests so obscenely difficult that a significant chunk of the class bombs the and just chalk it up to oh well they have a retest, and when another significant chunk fails that, they get a commission.

Czech Republic, Czechoslovakia split up some time ago. /Bullshitty pedant.


I was severely disappointed by the Czechs - Petr Cech is the Goalie in my Dream Team, and I had a Fiver on them to win.

So, on a Fantasy Football and Gambling front, they let me down.


Now England had better bloody beat France. Other Englishmen may feel the Germans are our natural rivals in Football, personally I'm a bit more old school and I see the French as our natural enemies.

Also, I've a Tenner on England to win by 2.

I'll be supporting England. Given that I live in Scotland (and I'm English) I'm pretty much only allowed to be patriotic every 2 years. Which is fine because I dislike patriotism.. but it's funny rubbing the fact that Scotland didn't qualify into peoples faces and it all balances out when England go out in the quarter finals.

I expect Germany to win the tournament but I'll be hoping that the Netherlands win it once England go out.
