Politically Correct getting out of hand....

Just the idea of political correctness is incredibly stupid. I would say more, but Yahtzee pretty much summed up my opinion about political correctness in his 50 Cent: Blood on the Sand review.

What I'm wondering is what the difference is between Halloween and "Fall Harvest." Is it just referring to your costume as a Halloween or "Fall Harvest" costume, or are certain costumes prohibited.? Either way, that's the silliest thing I've ever heard.
The basic idea of political correctness is ludicrous; no matter what you say someone will always be offended.
Whether it's because the censored version is more insulting, or the censorship itself is insulting, you won't please anyone.
Most people probably won't agree, but i prefer contempt to pity.

This shit really pisses me off. They're technically being politically incorrect by basically saying "Fuck your holidays 'cause some people don't celebrate them. Celebrate these generic ones instead."
The PC warriors are never the said "offended" group. It's always some butthurt pansy trying to talk FOR whole ethnic, religious or political groups, who often times don't care, ignore, or just are not offended in the first place.
The majority of time the average PC warrior is a white male/female from a middle class suburb telling everyone why they should be offended at something, and going into a fit of rage for other people who honestly just don't care.

Besides this, how often has anyone ever actually run afoul of this? I have never really seen such a situation. You only hear about them and they are usually because of one or two people who are trying to make themselves look good for whatever their political ends are, be it be the next superintendent or the next mayor. And this "war on Christmas" is almost non existent. Businesses just say "happy holidays" because it is easier than saying "merry Christmas, happy Hanukkah, and a very merry new years to you." Half the time people who think Christmas is being attacked they just don't realize the the X in Xmas comes from the greek word for messiah.Woodsey said:
Also, OP doesn't cite a source, so this might not be political correctness at all (especially since Halloween is pretty much a secular holiday) so they could be banning "Halloween" for some silly health initiative like trying to keep candy out of school.

I can't help wonder if this is just some stupid "we don't want monsters or something" in the school. Maybe even initiated by the religious right because they don't want demonic imagery or something equally inane. As often as so called PC warriors are trying to get things banned for fear of offending anyone, the moral guardians are trying to get things banned because they feel offended by them.chrono16 said:

And I bet if you're one of one or two black kids in a class, or in a whole town, you might notice it, and you'll probably be worried for a little while that your classmates would notice it too.
It was on a radio station we have at work. THe segment it was on is called Darcy Country Show. She has it posted on the facebook page Darcycountryshow. pretty sure its all one word but i'll post what it said.

Excerpt from memo sent to parents: "...in the interest of giving all the option to celebrate without offending, children are allowed to wear fall harvest costumes. Any costume deemed to be Halloween themed will be removed." Does the school have the right idea?

Oh wow thank you for confirming my anger. No better than the worst of conservatives. Whenever someone disagrees, they are racists, or sexists or homophobic. More like they can't accept the fact that Christmas hasn't been about Christ for quite a while. It's all about capitalism (good thing to, it's great for the economy and 'stuff' rocks). Not to mention the general annihilation of any religious symbol from public celebration.
