It seems like videogames are definitely trending this way, at least in singleplayer.
From Vanquish's 5-hour-minimum campaign, to the Call of Duties and Medal of Honors, it seems like games, especially FPS's, are turning into little interactive movies.
So my question: What if someone took this to its logical conclusion and made a very short (1.5 to 2.5 hours) game with little or no multiplayer aside from possibly co-op, and then sold it for the price of a movie ticket or a DVD? Putting aside the concept of convincing publishers to sell something like this, would you the consumer buy it?
(Disclaimer: I'm not workin' for anyone here)
(Second disclaimer: Please forgive a potential repost. I did a search which turned up nothing, but for all I know I didn't use the right search terms)
Personally, for $10 I might, but indie games have somewhat spoiled me - I tend to expect more from a $10-$20 game than from a $60 game, in every aspect but graphics and polish, nowadays.
Edit: My poll is broke.
