I was wondering if people like the old 2D side scrolling platformer Mario games, or the 3D, still platformer ones. Super Mario 64 VS Super Mario Bros Advance or whatever lol. You know what I'm talking about anyway. Me, I have to say 2D. I do love the 3D ones, but there can sometimes be a case of getting lost, or running around having no idea what to do. Plus, you're constantly collecting stars. Lastly, to the 2D merit, I have yet to find one that wasn't really good lol. :p

2D. Mario was meant to be simple. Oh and while we are on the topic. Castlevania... It only works in 2D! All 3D Castlevanias have sucked rancid diseased moose wang.
well, Lord of Shadows will most likely change that since Hideo Kojima is directing it.

on topic, wheres both? the 2D ones were great and fantastic but they are too short, while 3D mario has some awe-tastic good games like 64 and Galaxy.

Donkey Kong, Mario Bros, SMB3, SMW, in my opinion no 3D mario title will ever rival these.

I'm talking about THIS Mario Bros:

Yep. I'd rather play that than play Mario 64. That game always pissed me off for some reason, maybe it was jealousy...

Both are fun, but the message I give after playing Mario Galaxy, MARIO SHOULD NEVER HAVE BEEN GIVEN A Z AXIS.

Jump and run that's Mario. Not flippy worlds.

I didn't really want to do both since I was specifically looking for which one my fellow escapists think is better... I agree wholeheartedly, both types are awesome... Though I can't help wishing they would shake the mechanics around a bit. Mario Galaxy did ok at that, but we are still collecting stars to rescue peach yadda yadda yadda.

Although the 3-D Marios can be fun, the 2-D don't have you trying to activate a button in a corner that you can't see into properly due to the angles. The 2-D is cleaner.
