Poll: 360 deaths

So my xbox 360 died 20 minutes into RF Guerrilla which pissed me off beyond beyond explanation but thats not the point. What I am wondering is did that problem ever get fixed or will I constantly live in fear that a new one is gonna die. I am planning to either get a pro for 300 dollars or just say fuck it sell what xbox games I have buy a wii and lose some weight. I know I read a buncha stuff about jaspers and certain ones that are resistent to dieing and others that are guarenteed to start your house on fire and everything inbetween.

So Escapist what are you thoughts.

Had one RROD after 3 years of faithful service. I got a new Elite for Christmas so I am happy again

EDIT: They're better now when it comes to hardware failures but still not perfect. IMO, the 360 is the way to go console wise, so I wouldn't hesitate to get another one. DO NOT BUY A WII

They exanged my only broken one for free, so I don't care. I even got to keep the harddrive, so nothing was lost.

I have go through 2 so far.
I got one for Christmas 2007 and we were up my parents friends house and their dogs jumped all over my xbox =.= Apparently xboxs don't like fully grown dalmatians standing on them. The second one died of RROD last year 1 week before the warranty ran out =D

if it redrings its covered for 3 years and they ship you a new console in a week. HD failure is more like a month of aggravation as it gets shipped to Mexico and back then they have the balls to mail it to you COD.

Yea I have went through 4 of them this being the 4th living for 3 years. I have had my HD since my first xbox and it cost me 50 bucks to replace them with a warranty.

My younger brother got a pre-owned xbox about three years ago and we haven't had any problems with it.

First 360 died of Red Rings after about a year.
Second 360 died of Red Rings after about 7 months or so. Luckily I had a warranty at Wal-Mart and the guy working there accidently gave me an upgraded console with a bigger hard drive. It's still alive today.

I swear to god my copy of Guerrilla is what did it the thing is cursed when I bought it and I am not making a word of this up the cash register computer thing started smoking. After a whole buncha people freaked out and they got a maintence guy there we went to a different register which proceeded to stop working, rebooted itself, and locked the guy out until they could get an executive over to overide the lock.

So after all that I started playing it, got through parker the game started to look like a malfunctioning holodeck then I got a system error.

Random story but whatever I think I am gonna get another xbox the 60 gig HD is to appealing and my general dislike for the wii and all things playstation drives my decision hopefully *fingers crossed* the new one lasts a while.

To finish this large post where should I sell some old xbox/360 games to get maximum dollar I am guessing ebay but that is a lot of work although I am willing to go through all of it.

I'm on my third one. The first one died after about a year, the second one never even worked, and this one is working even after being thrown onto the front stoop by my mom when she got pissed.

13 months on my Falcon so far. The only problem I've had is when Oblivion crashed and deleted my Assassin's Creed save. Peculiar, but not a hardware issue.

I am on my second 360 but since I have had one since the first month that is pretty good.

But regular x-box's I went through one a month.
