heres the thing, everybody loves 3D these days, when they go to an animated film these days the first thing they ask is "is it in 3D?"
2D cartoon films have been replaced by 3D. Disney has bought pixar (and strangely enough marvel) signaling a large amount of cgi after princess and the frog.
Films like shrek, ice age and up were great but we are now seeing poor quality 3D tv shows and films. We are now seeing 3D tv's being made.
are we sacrificing the story telling element in a tv show for the sake of showman ship?
I honestly dont want to spend the rest of my life watching tv with a pair of plastic glasses on.
what do you think?

I'm feeling slight De ja vu with this thread. Like I've seen it before... Anybody else get the same feeling?

Maybe if they ditch the glasses and actually use the format for something else than just throwing stuff in your face, it might be ok. I still find it a bit useless and stupid at the moment.

I'm quite happy with the normal way things are, but naturally, the gaming industry needs to milk us for everything we've got. So 3D is obviously the next big thing that we simply must have...

Really don't like it. I don't like wearing the glasses, I have to wear glasses anyway and a second pair is either really uncomfortable, don't fit right or just have me totally distracted.

I just don't see the film in 3D.
Come to think of it, the only time I had an opportunity to watch a film in 3D I said 'fuck that' and went and found somewhere I could watch Father Ted instead.

So, uh, yeah. That's a pretty simple solution to 3D woes, as for the 3DS, it seems gimmicky, yeah, but I'll probably get it anyway, if only because I discovered recently that my DS has killed itself due to neglect.

not a big fan of 3D, always costs more and the glasses always seem to mess up the effect of my glasses so i sort of see one and half screens, so not worth the extra money
