Well, it is no stranger than believing that cannibalising on the creators son's flesh and blood will bring you to salvation.

I hope they exist, but only Batman knows for sure. That's why all the super-villains are out to get him, to find the secret of the elfs.

I like how the Batman choice has the most votes, despite making no sense.
I have a question for you, but it will have to wait until I've saved that...

*saving*

Alright, now that that's done, where did you get that? Just curious.
Its from a webcomic called Shortpacked. It can be pretty funny at times.

as seeing as most Scandinavians probably have a ancestor that has taken the title of elf it is not all that surprising to see that modern day Icelanders might accept the idea of elves even if only as a way to honor their ancestors

An example of bad luck the Huldufolk can cause when you disturb their homes stems from 1999. People were working on building a new road to Hvalfjarðargöng under the Hvalfjörður to Akranes. It kept going wrong, construction tools broke every time they had to be used as well as other unforseen misfortune. When a construction worker died from an accident a local inhabitant was hired, who people claimed to have contact with the Huldufolk. She told the construction crew the Huldufolk lived on the route of the new road and were trying to evacuate, but needed some more time. The work was temporarily stopped, until the woman told the government the Huldufolk had evacuated. The building was continued and nothing went wrong anymore
Personally I am of the opinion that when almost every mythology contains stuff about elves and the like, maybe it means that is at least POSSIBLE

Elves could not possible be real. By Elves, I mean the Eldar as written by Tolkien. They are an invention of the imagination of a man who claimed them as such. Nice story, but "my fans appreciate my works in a way that I do not."
Actually Tolkien didn't create them, he based his Elves on Nordic folk-tales.
I'm half Swedish and there you have stories of both the small pixie like elves, and the tall elves that Tolkien used.

It's not just in Iceland, quite a lot of countries have folklore concerning Pixies, Sprites, Elfen Folk... all manner of Goblinry.
Dragons masquerade in modern days as housecats.

Holy idiocy of Icelanders, Batman!

The one the sentence was talking to is the one who's name was on the poll, which I chose. Any other answers are pointless in my eyes.

Actually, the metaphrical cannibalism thing is just some kinda symbolic tradition or something; I never understood it. The actual Salvation part is when you believe Jesus scapegoated himself for your sins.
He, it makes so much more sense now. ;-)
