I'm in a funk. I have the funds for one game before Christmas and need some help deciding. I'm debating getting either Fallout New Vegas, Fable III, or Assassin's Creed Brotherhood. Note that The the first two I plan to get on the PC if chosen. No talking crap about the other games, just give your honest opinion on which one would be best. Other suggestions will be accepted.

I'd go with New Vegas, it has the highest replayvalue from what I've gathered. Of course if you would rather have something to play online, Brotherhood's your best bet. Still haven't tried it myself, but it honestly seems innovative enough with a hunter/prey game-mode.

New Vegas all the way. Just a heads up though: don't [i[ever[/i] sleep with the guy in the casino as part of a quest. The items that were confiscated before have now vanished.

And turn the fog up past defult settings if on PC. HAving the actor fog set to '2' is annoying when half the time you can't see an enemy (or giant rock wall) fully materialise until you are only a couple of meters away is annoying.

Apart from that it's great.

Fallout: New Vegas. Large game that is expected to be well supported to with DLC. Most of the glitches should be fixed with the upcoming patches as well.

None of the above. LittleBigPlanet 2 comes out next month.

Actually, I'm using next month to play JRPGs and Ratchet and Clank (both are things I need to catch up on)

I'm not getting any new releases. Just Chrono Trigger DS and FFXIII.
Maybe Minecraft.

Go with Assassins Creed. I hear the bugs are bad in the new fallout:NV, wait until they fix that some. but in the mean time AC:B sounds good.

I've only played New Vegas, but I can whole-heartedly vouch for it, it's basically Fallout 3, only superior in every concievable way. Seriously, you can think of it, they've fixed it.

New Vegas will probably give you the best deal for your dollar. Fable will most definitely not be worth full price, were the last 2 worth $60?

Save up for a better game. I don't have experience from Fallout: NV, but if it's anything like Fallout 3, it probably prioritizes quantity instead of quality. Fable III looks somewhat promising, but it's not really that much of an RPG. I guess Assassin's Creed: Brotherhood would be the best choice, but I'm not the biggest AC fan either.

If you like Fallout though, I'd still suggest staying away from NV until later because glitches are still being found, and it is annoying losing your save file after sinking 20 hours into it. And you know how Obsidian games are with glitches.

Pretty sure the release date was delayed.

Dude... they're all sequels... if you liked the predecessor to one more than the other, get that one.

(Far too many sequels these days, it seems these days new IPs are the minority...)

(I just checked the new releases on steam, in the latest 100 release, there's only two new IPs in the £25+ price range, that's... unnerving. Including all releases, there's only 18 new IPs in the latest 100 releases. That means, that for every game that's released with a new IP, there's at least 4 released which are either remakes or sequels... have people just run out of ideas?)

How the fuck did Assassin's Creed: Brotherhood slip under my radar :l I only googled it because of this thread, I'd heard of it before but I just figured it was some gay PSP addition not a proper sequel. Thanks for adding another game on my already large 'to-get' list :\
