So here's the deal Escapists:

Would you agree to have everything you ever wanted (and/or didn't know you wanted), but give up the ability to feel good, happy, or enjoy things?

On the one hand, you'll be set for life. Everything will be taken care of: money, housing, health, food, companionship, etc. You can accomplish almost anything (except undo the deal), you will be great at whatever you do and change jobs/careers/lifestyles on a whim. You can meet/marry/whatever the perfect mate if you so choose, and are completely free to change your mind with no consequences. You can go through life completely fulfilled.

On the other hand, if you take the deal you could never take pride in your achievements, you could never truly love someone, you would be doomed to a life of "meh", and the best you can ever hope to feel is nothing.

It may seem obvious at first, but really think about it.

What would you do and why?

Well considering that you can't feel fulfilled unless you're happy... No.
If anything, I'd become depressed by the fact that literally nothing can ever make me feel positive ever again.

No matter how much I think, No is the logical answer for me.

A perfect world with no good feelings? I've already shared my thoughts on a perfect world, that it would be boring and all. But this? This would be the ultimate in boredom. No thanks.

without having the ability to enjoy things, how would i enjoy the things i find enjoyable? i wouldn't.
For that reason, i wouldn't take the deal.

Well, all I really want is to be happy...

And a T-Rex. I want one of those fuckers pretty bad.

So how would that work? Give up all emotions to be happy, and have a pet T-Rex? Hell yeah I'd take the deal!

Take it. At least I can take worrying about the future off of my mind.

Besides, that's pretty much how I always feel.

Hmm. That depends. Can I feel pride? Or how about contempt? Or is it a complete lack of feelings?

I dunno, either way I think I'd go for it.

Make sure everyone who I used to feel something for are set for life, then get started on creating my legacy. Go into entirley immoral science for the betterment of humankind, seeing as I wont feel anything for my subjects I can do things other people couldn't. I could make the hard decisions for the best.

Yes, yes, I think I'd take that deal. Simpley so I know I won't be forgotten. Afterall, feelings are only for what? 60-90 years or so? If my legacy was enduring enough I could still have people in school being taught about me in 1000 years. Have statues in parks, buildings named after me.

EDIT Forgot to add. I'm not really an emotional person. The most I feel is a general state of meh and apathy. I only really feel pride, and possesion. Other than it's the negative emotions. Don't often feel 'happy', but quite often sad. So a removal of all emotions would leave me with a net gain in he happyness stakes anyway.

As emo as it may sound, my current life is already pretty "meh" overall. May as well ensure that i won't starve or anything then.

You can still feel everything except happy and joy (and all of their offshoots like pride, love, sexual pleasure, etc.). You would still know and remember what they were, but it would be lost to you, like being struck blind or deaf.

But this is some interesting introspection.

NO way, no how would I take that deal. You are talking about my hell on earth right there! I'm bipolar and it is a big throbbing pain in the ass to be bipolar. If I could wave a wand and have "normal" explainable emotions I would consider it(maybe). Having said that, having no joy in life CAN be accomplished by using the right meds and let me tell you it sucks! One would basically become the walking dead.

That's a horrible deal.
None of it means anything if it's essentially all been handed to me.
