I just had a stupid thought. Or rather, I just thought of a stupid phrase, and I want it integrated into the zeitgeist.
You know how Sony is making SOCOM 4 Move compatible, and will probably make a bunch more gun-related action games as if those are all that "hardcore" gamers enjoy playing? Well, I think these move-centric (and hell, we could even lump the few Wii FPSs into this) should be called "Point & Shooters." It's accurate, it's clever, while at the same time being pretty lame (like those email jokes your mom forwards you.)
Would you use it?
EDIT: Yes, I know such games have been in arcades for decades (Time Crisis, House of the Dead), but have we ever had a phrase to describe them so succinctly?
FURTHER EDIT: I'm not, like, proud of "point & shooter"; in fact, I think it's a pretty dismissive phrase. I'm just wondering if you think it's effective.
