Were it me, I'd pick #2. It's just smooth and classy. The first, while kinda neat that you can see all the 'bits', just doesn't come with the same style, and is more like a 'novelty'. You don't want that.

It has the same mechanical movement as my 17 dollar mechanical watch. granted, MINE works fine, but it loses a few minutes every few days, and I bet not everyone is having the same luck as me.

Personally I like the 1st. Even though I like the color of the second one, I really like the fact that you can see the gears in the first one.
I voted for the 1st one, because you can see some of the mechanical parts and such 
(well that, and the matte finish didn't really appeal to me on the 2nd one).

first one because it has more of a design going for it while keeping the elegance of a pocket watch
I like the open face of the first one but the color of the second so i guess I'm no help. I'm curious as to why a pocket watch though. Don't you have a cell phone?
