When driving, and you hear a siren, do you get confused by the doppler effect?
I can never rely on my ears to tell which direction an ambulance/fire engine/police car is coming, and end up looking around or at my mirrors to try and spot it, which is a little dangerous since I have to focus on the road ahead.
There've been many times where I used my ears, and I swore the noise was coming from behind so I signal to move to the side to allow room for the emergency vehicle to pass, only to have it come charging at me from the front (on the opposite side of the road obviously).
