Hmm, thread name is kind of flawed, because technically anyone who isn't native american is "un-american".

As a brit, I intended on retaking our colony, so, starting from new york, let the invasion begin, what what! *Sips tea, smokes pipe*

I went with San Fran, but only because I have been spending way too much time with the recent Driver -title. Also, Bullit. Motherfucking Bullit.

Canada, so I could go to the pub, Why don't you let 18 year olds drink America?
Because 18 is ALSO the age where you're first allowed to fuck (17, if you and your partner are less than 6 months apart in age... i think) and granting a person access to two things that have terrible consequences when mixed/abused at the exact same time is a recipe for disaster.
I can see this argument. In Finland, you get permission to both Drink and Drive at the same time which sounds awful. But somehow I think the US does it a bit weird as well, because I don't really see the logic of going "Yeah, he is totally old enough to handle this man-killing machine with tons of weight, but alcohol? ALCOHOL? NOOOOOOOOO, it's way too poisonous and horrible and life-threathing! Wait at least 5 years!"

If I'd move to the US to live, I'd like to go to Texas or Nevasa. I kind of like the combination of modern convenience and wide open spaces the American mid-west has mastered compared to Australia where everything is either overly-metropolitan or completely isolated. I'd avoid living in New York or California for these reasons.

Austin seems like a pretty nice area, and I could get an awesome house there for what a mid-range apartment would cost here in Sydney, Australia.

The only downside is I hear the people in the more southern states like Texas and Louisiana tend to be more racist than other states. Maybe I'd be better off some place like Nevada or Colorado.
actually NY....the state at least..is like that way. NYC obviously is a gaint city. The other cities of NY are significantly smaller. Whereas NYC has...what...8-9 million people, the city of buffalo, rochester, syracuse, and albany (state capitol) are all under 250,000.

Nothing wrong with texas of course. From what i hear, the food is good, climate isnt too bad, they are too far west for most of the natural disasters, and it is a booming state.
Valid point, even though I know there's a difference between New York state and New York City, I still automatically associate them in my head.

After the bombs hit, I'll head over to vegas. Go mingle with the giant robots.

...What do you mean that game isn't realistic?

I live in the US, but I'll answer this anyways. I've been to NYC hundreds of times, and have no interest in any of the others, so... wherever the upcoming Protomen concert that's closest to me is going to be.

Honestly I think I would most likely just stay in Canada but I would probably choose the Hawaiian Islands. They seem to be less populous than the other locations, less busy and all that fun stuff. Well, that and the fact that it's warm for more than 5 months of the year.

New York seems like the default choice here. Personally, though, I'd like to see Washington D.C., because I went once a few years ago and only saw a very small slice of the city, and would love to see the rest.

I've been to California already. I'd like to go back (Los Angeles/Anaheim, I guess), now that I'm not 9 years old anymore. There are so many more things to do there, yet when we went the only place we went to was Disneyland.
I think if all goes well in my life I'll spend a lot of time at Anaheim (that rhyme you get for free!) what with that convention centre. It hosts Vidcon and Comic Con.

I'd go to new york. Sounds like a great place to visit.

Honestly I don't think I can handle living in a city like that... as someone who has spent most my life living in rural areas.

Figured I'd chip in my two cents as a United Statesian who has traveled a good portion of the world...

Vegas and Hawaii are fun, if you've got cash to spare... the eastern seaboard megalopolis is something I prefer to avoid, though. Dickheads per capita seems to go up the further you get into the the crowded areas there.
Most of what the US has to offer that you won't find many other places in the world lies in our nature reserves and such, though. Yellowstone is a good example, but it's one in thousands.
