Poll is obviously rigged to fetch a no vote (though I don't doubt it'd be a no majority anyway).

You're one of those pre order hating guys right? Well than just wait for the game to come out as these specs are often hogwash.
If they are that high and you want to play it than just upgrade, its easy but I'm sure you already know that.

Its almost like they don't want people to buy their games.

But that makes no sense. Ubisoft, you so funny.

What in the unholy fuck is Ubisoft doing with those 50 gigabytes?
Probably uncompressed audio like Titanfall. Since the new consoles both have BluRay drives and at least 500GB of hard disk space, developers don't feel the need to compress their assets anymore. I'd say 50GB games are going to be the norm now, which isn't good news for me and my 5 mbps internet connection. I might have to start buying physical copies again or just have to be very patient and give any new games I get a day or so to download.

I think this has become part of the advertising hype in a lot of publisher's minds, a game isn't 'next gen' unless it's got wildly massive hardware requirements that anyone with half a brain would figure out are fabricated.
And that is mostly it right there. Don't get me wrong, I'm sure the port is unoptimized and all that, but with the current-gen basically running PC architecture, there is virtually no way the port could be that bad.

Really, Ubi is just insulting its potential customers yet again, thinking that all PC gamers care about are the graphics of the games. While this is not helped by so many people bragging about PC graphics, it does not take a genius to see that in reality, graphics are a distant concern compared to the real elements of a game, like gameplay and story. Only someone with complete contempt for their own customer base would pull a stunt like this.

I found that hilarious. Thank you

All previous AC games were total pain to get to run on PC without issue at least for me so I dont expect this to be any different. The horrid DRM crap was insane.
One other thing that I've just noticed that they are not releasing this on PS3/360 damn. So its either PC or skip it for me.
50 GB of disk space before install ... whatever are they thinking ...

And Ubisoft wonder why PC gamers don't buy their games, those min specs are absurd considering that the same game will run on a console with far lower hardware. They are either being dishonest about the requirements or are making the worst ports known to man. Since its Ubi either is possible.

This new gen really is not PC friendly, so far all we have gained is reduced options including FPS locking and stupidly inflated system specs.

I cannot get upset over this.

If the game itself is good and you do have the specs, then go for it. If it's not even good, then it's not even an issue.

I intend to stick with my core i5 for as long as most games I'm interested in run on one. Eventually I'll upgrade though and then I may get some sloppily ported, but otherwise decent games at a huge discount.

This is pretty much my stance as well. Based particularly on this thread, it seems most of the issue is not necessarily with the specs themselves but actually with the game/Ubisoft. Honestly, if the given specs were really low instead of what appear to be strangely high then there would likely be an outcry of "Haha, see how weak the new gen of consoles are!" or "See how powerful PCs are in comparison to those lowly consoles!"

What would be a far more interesting poll is if a new PC exclusive title that "everyone" wanted was coming out and had, say, an i7 as a minimum requirement.

Nope.

I have enough experience with Ubisoft games to know how bad the optimization really is to even bother with this game. I don't hate their games, but they really need to work on optimization of their games, because it's really...How can i say...Unprofessional? They are an AAA company with problems that are common with indie and inexperienced devs...At least the indies most of the time know to not push the limits of graphics unless they can optimize for that.

One thing i saw someone speaking, and that i agree is that it's amazing how their games looks worse and runs worse, after getting submitted to this, i really only buy their games in Steam sales.

I was already going to give this game a miss because of it's ludicrous 60? price tag (most, if not all games cost 50? on Steam, here at least), this is just making it worse.

This is Ubisoft. The company that went on record stating that optimisation for PC is not important. The company that figuratively shits on the PC gamers every single time they open their bloody mouth. Color me not surprised.

No. I won't buy Ubisoft shit. So the poll should be answered with this.
My attitude is that if you've bought more than 1 Ubisoft PC title since... call it 2007... you deserve everything you get for not learning from the 1st purchase.

I'm beginning to think the Parity clause for consoles is a bullshit lie on their part too. Their engine is just a horrible buggy, unoptimised mess and buying doing 900p 30 FPS they can get it to run with little work on both machines instead of working with both consoles and optimising each version accordingly.

Metro Redux on PS4 was 1080p/60 FPS and those games looked incredible.

Same with PC, make it the consumers fault for not having a rig of the Gods if it doesn't run properly.
