Adventure Time and My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic are character driven cartoons with a cast of quirky and unique characters. Weather it be the heroic, and somewhat egotistic Rainbow Dash and Finn the Human. The smart, and also nurotic Princesses Bubblegum and Twilight Sparkle. To even the tricksters Discord and Magic Man. But of these two shows, Which has the most memorable cast of characters?

The Ice King wins this fight for Adventure Time, all by himself.

I can't really say why without spoiling it for everyone else though.

If you aren't sold by the Ice King, then Marceline should push it way over the line.

I vote Adventure time since I don't watch MLP.

Even if I did, I'd vote Adventure time anyway, the characters seem more interesting to me not to mention the tragic back story behind every major character.

Whoo-hoo! Only person so far to vote for MLP!

I don't know, I just don't feel like the characters in Adventure Time aren't written that well. They have good stories and interesting backgrounds, but it just doesn't seem like all of it is being used to its full potential. I think Finn suffers the most from this. Everyone else shines when compared to him. Maybe if the show had more episodes like the one where Bubblegum and Marceline teamed up I'd be more impressed. That was a good dose of character development for both of them.

Both of the series have many memoriable characters.
However I prefer the characters of Adventure Time than of MLP if I had to choose.

Hm, they're just so different shows, it's really hard to compare them. MLP more closely follows the formulas of children's cartoons, while Adventure Time is just sort of the creator's imagination running wild that just barely fits within the confines of children's television--or any television in general, to be honest. But both are great because they know exactly what they're about, and they have the perfect sets of characters to achieve that.

MLP has a large set of regular characters with very specific quirks and flaws which all balance against each other well, making it easy to follow their show's format. And Adventure Time has a small cast of regulars with a large cast of other random characters, that makes following the whims of the writers very easy.

So I'm going to be a stick in the mud and say both. Both have the ideal casts of characters needed for what their shows set out to accomplish, and both succeed brilliantly.

Adventure Time has somewhat better...or at least DEEPER characters, but MLP:FiM actually has the more memorable characters.
Partially this is because the ponies are simplified into an iconic and easy to remember form, and they all look roughly the same, which means their design is drilled into your head and essentially unforgettable.

Well the ponies are all cutsie girly friendship types... and they're all ponies. Adventure time characters are at least more diverse than that.
