I'm a PhD student nearing the end of my first year (3.5 year program), but I have a problem. It started out small, as many problems do, but over time it has become quite serious. Your thoughts on this issue would be appreciated.

My supervisor, Dr.A, doesn't seem to care about me. He brought me on as a student, and helped me get a really nice scholarship, but he just doesn't seem to have the time to teach me. He is always rescheduling, canceling or simply forgetting our arraignments. When I do get time to talk with him he doesn't seem to listen to me, he just talks over me until I give up. Also, he keeps telling me about things we should do together, but never follows through. He says it's just because he is very busy lately, and this is a temporary thing, but it's been going on for almost a year now. I feel like a battered wife in the sense that he keeps doing these things, and I keep forgiving him for it.

My co-supervisor, Dr.B, is completely different. Though he had no hand in my acceptance at this university, or my scholarship, he does have time for me. He always seems willing to sit and talk to me about my studies, and he actually let's ME talk. Though his research isn't as interesting to me, he is willing to be flexible and let me choose a topic. I don't have as much in common with him, but he seems like a nice guy.

I don't know what to do, and this is all making me very depressed. I feel like I am getting a poor education, and wasting my time at this university. So please let me know what you think by voting or posting a reply. Thanks.
