Poll: afro samurai, big dissapointment?

i am an avid fan of the anime and have watched the first and 2nd and own alot of the merch that comes with it, so i was over joyed when i saw afro samurai comming out, so i went down bought it and played it only to be slapped in the face with dissapointment after dissapointment, the fightings repetitive, theyve changed the story to much, its just doesnt feel like the afro samurai i love and watch, so for you guys on here who have played the game , what are your thoughts on it

Wasn't really a fan of the anime, but I did like the art direction the game took, however, your verdict really nailed the last nail on the coffin for me, not getting it now. If it's a simple, repetitive hack n' slasher, I've got plenty of them already.

yeah i mean if you saw the anime youd think this game would be up there with the likes of gears and games like that it would have been awsome if they made it as close to the anime as possible

I'm not even remotely an anime fan, but seriously, Afro Samurai didn't give you a hint? That it would be all glimick of 'An Afro Samurai' with no gameplay/plot to back it up?

Well, chalk it up to a learning experience - 90% of video media to game media conversions are awful.

See, the premise of the anime was even simpler than that. The pitch meeting was pretty much "An anime with Samuel L. Jackson in". And that was it.

The plot is about one sentence long. "Samuel L. Jackson wants to kill Ron Perlman because Ron Perlman killed his dad".

And it's fucking awesome. For a start, Samuel L. Jackson and Ron Perlman are in it, the animation is fluid and stylish, and the fights are exciting and varied.
