Poll: Alien Rights

Well, after watching District 9, I wondered about whether if aliens were to ever come to earth as refugees, just like the movie, would they be given rights? When we get a refugee from a country, if they have good reasons for their departure, they will generally be given their rights. But they are under human rights, not extraterrestrial rights. So in this simulation, if aliens were to come to earth, would they be given rights equal to humans?

The way that the governments asked them to leave seems like what would generally happen if America got involved in that situation. Tell them to leave, and say that us taking their only means of transportation is THEIR problem. But they don't exist. And if they did, I'd kill them all. I have a plan.

probably not. we'd let them in, yeah, but we would lock them up and try and find where they're from and how to live on whatever planet they came from...but if i met one who didn't want to kill me and i was a leader, i'd let it stay.

Honestly, I think it would go a bit like it did in District 9. Slums and experimentation.

well if we knew why the aliens came to our planet then yes, as long as it was a non hostile reason

We already have problems with treating human beings in humane ways. So do you think there's any way to stop people form treating people (and I'm using the word people on purpose here) from a foreign (once again, foreign instead of alien is on purpose) planet in ways that are inhuman?
