I went for Altair.
I don't know, I guess it's just how serious he was. I don't usually liked serious characters, but it just seemed to fit for him.

I have to go with Ezio, with second place going to Aveline. Ezio is a good dude that had bad things happen to him, yet through this he strove to protect everyone's minds from being controlled by the Templars. Connor... well Connor is just a douchebag. Early Altair is too arrogant, and while he's much cooler later, Ezio never had that problem. I like Aveline because she's obviously being played by everyone she trusts, but she trusts her instincts and goes out of her way to help anyone she can anyway. But yeah, I almost liked Haytham better than Connor and he was a supreme asshat.

I went with Enzio. He was just fun and flirted with the ladies.

I dialed my expectations down for Connor but he managed to limbo under them with the standard issue stoic Indian. Doubly disappointing after his mother proved to have a bit of a sense of humor (why are you talking so slowly?), but Connor is just so dour and too damn naive to live.

A shame the game didn't hit the divide between the American Dream and the American Reality a bit harder. They talk about it a lot, but most of the time it's just big speeches about Freedom. I would have loved to see the historical characters fleshed out a bit, showing them to be a bit less than legend would have them. Such as, some people think Thomas Jefferson had Aspergers, and his example certainly didn't live up to his rhetoric.

Instead, they're mostly portrayed as being really wonderful and/or colorful characters, while Connor acts like a dick every time one of them touches him.

heyy i havent played either AC3 or liberations yet so i cant say whether i like connor or that chick .
but from the two AC games that i played AC1 and AC2 i feel i really liked Ezio a lot.
i thought Altair was dull and bland while Ezio had more character and depth that i could get behind.
this ofcourse has to do with the fact that AC2 had a much better wriiten story and more character development for Ezio than altair.

It really got annoying how much they talked about Altiar in the Ezio games. But then I got tired of the constant Ezio games.
I'm only like an hour into the newest one and I haven't even met Connor yet.

So my vote goes to the squad of prostitutes you can hire to provide you cover.

I like Altair a lot better in Revelations.

Mostly because they really fleshed out his character, but also because they got rid of that ridiculous American accent.

Ezio is still my favourite though.
The only thing that bothered me about Altair(and Ezio) is that they used the same model as Desmond. Ancestors are cool and all, but are they really going to have the exact same face, hundreds of years apart from each other? I both agree and disagree about Altair's voice, though. I didn't mind that they got rid of his silly American accent, but I wasn't too thrilled about his childishly high pitched voice. I kinda wish they'd have just kept his deeper tone of voice.

Annnnd my favorite would be Ezio in Assassin's Creed II. I got bored of Ezio in Brotherhood and by time we got to Revelations Ezio had long worn out his welcome, as far as I was concerned. As for Connor, at least he didn't look exactly like Desmond, right down to the damned scar on his lip. .-.

for me its connor..he is the guy with balls...a loner..had no one his whole life...when he joined the brotherhood..it was nt even a brotherhood..he was a single man....fought for freedom most of his life...yes he doesnt have "swag" as some people have mentioned.....that ezio has...he is not all mysterious like altair....but for me connor is the best...connor>altair>ezio...i know..hardly anyone agrees..but who cares..connor rules..

I'd have to say Ezio, followed by Haytham. When 3 switched me to Connor I kept wondering why Haytham couldn't be the protagonist of three (don't answer that, I know the obvious answer).

After that, Connor, then AC1 Altair. I did quite like ACR's Altair... They gave him some personality and character development at least.

And as for why Ezio is my favourite? He has so much personality, and a great character arc over the three games. I didn't fully appreciate it until I went back and played 2 again after Revelations though.
thank u some one who agrees

Ezio was charming and had a great voice actor, Altair didn't have much of a personality at all, Connor was ok, Haytham was fairly interesting but underdeveloped. I really liked the interaction between Haytham and Connor and wish we'd seen more of it, it would have brought out the more salient features of Connor's personality. He's really the kind of guy who needs to be reflected against someone else, with a strong personality,to be known. He sort of fades into the background otherwise. Altair on the other hand was just boring, and with the worst voice actor in all the games.

Overall I liked Ezio the best, with Haythem a close second.

Ezio is my favorite video game character. He's just so likeable and you can relate to him. A rare quality in video game characters. And it's not very often that you get to play with a character from his birth to his twilight days and witness all the important events in his life and how they shaped him into a person he is. It's truly remarkable. Good luck to Ubisoft trying to create a better character any time soon. Or ever.

I liked seeing Ezio's development well enough, but I think his story could have been wrapped up in fewer games.

having only played 1 & 2. Ezio was the more interesting character, but it was pretty awesome that Altair was a muslim arab, something that you don't see much in gaming as a "good guy" and definitely not as a protagonist.

Altair..he has what it takes to be an Assassin..he's dedicated to the creed he just acts like a professional assassin, doesn't talk too much, he knows how to remain hidden from templars, he kills silently a cold blood killer, moving to the next point.. I'd be a dumbass if I said that I didn't like Ezio too he's just awesome got the skills the personality especially in Revelations he really shows what does it mean to be a Mentor (Mualim), Connor I liked his story, his childhood and the most thing I liked in him is the pride of being a mohawk red indian with so much caring about his people when he said "My people come first", his tomhawk, his way of fighting, him leading an army, him becoming a captain, the patient and brave kind of person he is, the hard times he went through..his mother's death, forcing himself to kill his own friend, having no choice but killing his dad and actually I'm so willing to see Connor in next AC games I liked him so much...but my choice would go for their grandmaster Altair ofcourse he's like the only one that seemed to know what exactly what he's doing without any regrets, blindly serving the creed cause he knows he's doing the right thing.
