Poll: AMV discussion

I've been sporadicly searching on the youtube over the years for amvs to my favorite songs and/or anime. Some results have been very rewarding, such as suckafish80, one who always amazes me with his videos. However, I find it disappointing that most amvs are: either unedited action scenes set to the song, or videos with very good editing but has an anime or song that I can't stand.

Anyway, I just want to ask my fellow escapists their thoughts on AMVs. Love em? Hate em? Pet peeves?

I for one fail to see any logic of ZERO Ponyo AMVs set to Dethklok's "Go Into The Water". Because it's the only anime with the imagery necessary to justify it.

I'll say off the bat that I'm a big fan of the AMV Hell series, and generally believe that format is the best way to make AMV's. I also learned of rather a few series because of it.

I just like when it works, like Offspring's Denile to Negima after the girl dies.

If I knew how to make AMV's though, I have one in mind. But its a seeeecret.
