I was taking a ride in the car when I had a idea that involves involves both Kinect and an alternate use for the Guitar Hero controllers.
Basic Idea: First person shooter using a laser(tazer, freeze ray, etc.) shooting guitar as the main weapon, using Kinect to move and interact with the world.
How It'd Work: Hold a colored button(blue= freeze ray, red= laser, orange= heat ray, etc.), strum to fire, use the lasers to fight and solve puzzles. Also taking advantage of Kinect, a windmill strums and other fancy flourishes will add more power to the attack, the fancier the move the more powerful the attack.
Why I Need The Both: You can't very well move with the Guitar Hero controller... On the flip side, the guitar idea is original and having a tangible controller is far easier to work with in a shooter.
So what do you think? Would it work? How can it be improved? Is it a good idea? (there's probably a million and one reasons why it wouldn't work)
[sub]Of course, this isn't exactly going to get eaten up by the 'casual' gamers, and that's another good reason, giving 'hardcore' gamers a little something for them and them alone.[/sub]
