Okay I just watched Graham and Paul at Game X, and it sounds like the videos they make are way shorter than they wish they were and we miss out on alot of good content(IMO). So my question to you is this. Would you pay for a Unskippable DVD with full uncut videos or are the videos on The escapist good enough?
(Incase you were wondering I would pay for the DVD.)

Probably not, no. A collection of 5ish minute internet videos does not make a good DVD release.

I would buy a DVD if it contained more than just opening cutscenes. So theres 1 hour of commentary instead of 5 minutes for every game.

I'd buy that.

I have two words for you my good sir.

Robot Chicken

Yes, it's not internet videos, but it's 10-15 sec claymation-esque clips, and that seems to do pretty well.

OT: I would, especially if it was filled with loads of bonus footage goodies and other extra content.

As has been said, there's not really enough there to warrant a DVD. I watch Red vs Blue religiously (or used to, until the latest season ended), but I'd never shell out the money for the DVD, especially when the internet is free and far more convenient.

To which I say fair point, but different subject. Robot Chicken thrives on how adaptatious it can be, taking on any medium that's available. Toys, clay, custom humor, pop culture, and top-notch personalized writing give it much more room for a buyable show. Unskippable, while definitely a good series, is an internet series that has someone else's pre-made media to work with, and can only apply witty dialogue over the existing form. In a sense, it would be like a DVD of the news--commentary over stories and footage. It's a thrilling view, but not exactly marketable material.

Err... No.

I'm starting to get worried by these "would you pay for the Escapist?" threads...

Of course it would have to have bounus content. behind the scenes making of, full versions of the videos stuff like that. Not just what they have on the site.

Only if it had extra shows, and a plot. So pretty much Mega64: The Unskippable Version.

Unskippable is too much like a web-series for me to purchase it. The only things from The Escapist that I would buy on DVD are There Will be Brawl and Doomsday Arcade. Those have either a movie or tv show feel to them.

What's the betting it's actually some sinister marketing survey conducted in secret? They walk among us...

On topic I'm pretty sure this wouldn't work as a DVD. Would you just sit there and watch them all together off the trot or would it have a menu just for 5 minute segments?

If they could make fun of an entire game's cutscenes instead of just the intro sequences, that'd be pretty cool, I might buy that.
