You can pretty much guarantee that if the XPERIA had been released by apple, they'd be saying how awesome it is. haters gonna hate, and fanboys gonna..fan?.. and all that nonsense.
Im not actually sure of the specs, but if the XPERIA came out after the latest iphone, there's a good chance its 'technically' better.

Depends on what you are looking for in a smartphone. The iPhone is a polished peice of hardware and software but it is locked down pretty tight. Android is a very good platform which you can do just about whatever you want with. For the typical user I would say there really isn't any difference between the two.
Well, if Picard uses one...
Seriously though, I don't have a cellphone. I do fancy an iPhone but... Whatever.
Iphone at the moment just because the app store is slightly better, however android is definitely the future of smart phones and a future thats not very far off at that.
I'm not qualified to judge that, but I'm going to guess it's android.
Why? Because iphone seems to be a stereotypical form over function apple product. Sure, it's nice and sleek, and it's the trendy one to have, but from what experience I have with smartphones, androids seem to have more responsive screens, higher resolution and more functionality.

Id go for android, cheaper, comes with google apps ( nagigation, maps etc) way more customisationable, and apps can use all features of the phone including camera, music and gps.
I don,t have experience with Android system,s but I do own a iPhone so I go with that, the only thing that suck,s is that it,s hard to Jail Break it.
iPhones have very good hardware and pretty good OS at the moment and will do everything the average user wants it to.
Android phones can be cheaper to around the same price, its hardware varies. Which is one thing that's currently annoying about it, but thats the phones hardware and not the OS.
I like the Android OS better because its more open and has backing from Google and you get all their nice applications.

I've never used an Android phone, but I've got an iPhone and it's excellent. Really, really excellent.
iPhone's are for people that don't realise they have a douchebag phone.
Blackberry's are for people that do realise they have a douchebag phone.

iPhone is good mainly for the App Store, but who's to say the Android Market won't overtake it?

I think the App Store is overrated. So many of the apps are useless crap on both sides. And most of the "must have" apps have been out on both platforms for a while in some form.TheYellowCellPhone said:
The best part about the iPhone is app compatibility and consistency. Android developers have to develop for multiple resolutions and other hardware specs. Android has Swype though...
