I was told to watch Code Geass after watching Deathnote, next question, I enjoyed Deathnote (except episode 37) and would I like Code Geass? Should I watch it Subbed or Dubbed? Should I watch Code Geass at all? Am I even Spelling the name right?

Code Geass was an OK show, I've seen some dubs and it isn't much different or worse.

Subbed. Code Geass draws quite a few parallels with Death Note, it's basically Death Note with Mecha in a sense, and worth watching, it's pretty good.

Any more questions? If so, join up. http://www.escapistmagazine.com/groups/view/Anime-Fans

I would watch it dubbed. I simply find the japanese language harsh and difficult to listen to. I don't see the allure of it. If you want to stay true the dialog, sub it.

Yes, but only if you think that giving Light the ability of mind control and a giant robot would be awesome.....So, definitly yes.

It is the only launguage that I can listen to and read subs for without getting a head ache.

Just watch it. Oh, and don't think Lelouch is like Light. He actually has a concious, and a plan that goes beyond murdering everyone who doesn't act like he wants. He's trying to make the world better for his sister, not to satisfy some god complex.

Yes, however just like Death Note it doesn't sully it's quality. It's spread across 50 episodes, and while the first series is better than the second, it's still awesome stuff overall.

Agreed. I don't mean to cause offense, but the japanese language seems to lack emotion and the charachters very much sound the same. It's probably because I speak English and I'm use to western dialects. I imagine a person from Japan would say the same about Britain and America...

It's overly dramatic, but in a weird way that's part of the appeal, like Gurren Lagaan's insane energy.

As for subbed or dubbed, well, I would go with what way you think you'll enjoy it more. I watched it on AS, and can say it's a fairly good dub, but it could have been better.

I like Lelouch's more teenagery sound in the dub than how deep he is in the japanese, but on the other hand the deepness of the japanese seiyuu really works well when Lelouch is in Zero mode. I like Suzaku's tone a bit better in english than in Japanese. And I love Ogi in english. But alot of the side characters like Kallen, Chigusa (can't remember her actual Britanian name), and Shirley are not as good as in the Japanese version. And I really don't like Nunnally's english voice.

So, I guess go with what you want. Personally, I think it's generally better to check it out in the original language first. If you have the DVDs, you can just switch back and forth if you get curious about what it sounds like in the other language.

Code Geass was very good the 1st season but turn real bad real fast and by the end you will wonder if you hate anime.

Watch it subbed. In my opinion at least, the dubbed actor can't hold a candle towards the personality that the Japanese one gives the character. He's not cringe-worthy bad... just sort of inadequate by comparison.

think Death Note + Mecha. fairly similar to Death Note and I recommend subbed. Only problem I had was my fault when I looked up plot synopsis and didn't wanna continue, although I've heard 2nd season isn't as good as 1st.
