Poll: anime style gta

I was thinkng about GTA and thinking about how GTA4 is not a bad game but how it lost the fun factor gta san andreas and vice had and it hit me why not put it in a anime setting you know mechs laser swords and the like and then just go OTT like jumping of a speeding bike and plowing that swrod sreight in to the police mech

Things it would have :

mechs
laser weapon/swords
robots
sewer mutants
lodes of customization cars mechs
and the ability to change parts of your body eg mutagens and bionic parts

i think this would be awesome any thoughts

I don't really like GTA as it is, but I don't think changing the look of it would really make it any better.
Just a sandbox with mechs and lasers might be quite good, just not on the GTA frame.

Has my utter contempt been communicated, yet? If you want to combine GTA with mecha, call it mecha. There is nothing inherently "anime" about giant robots, and not all anime involve them.

Frankly, the most entertaining thing to see would be a Grand Theft Auto/Strawberry Marshmallow crossover. Because then, the world will have finally gone insane.

Don't make ANIME GTA make ANIME SANDBOX GAME.
an anime game in the GTA framework wouldn't be so hot.

I'm pretty sure that GTA could never cross over with Azumanga Daioh. There is something wrong with *anyone* who thinks this is a good idea.

As for the original thread idea: GTA + mecha wouldn't work, but an anime/mecha sandbox action game would be interesting. I wouldn't mind playing it if it came out.

Though, really, Azumanga Daioh/GTA would make for a more entertaining crossover than with Fruits Basket.

It would only work if it was pretty much the same thing as Hayate no Gotoku, because it makes fun of a fuckton of animes and thats the whole point of the show.

I think he means like that but actually good.
Y'know, like have things happen in the sandbox. Make it interactive.
And probably replace the gas pumping and lawn mowing minigames with mech building and tentacle rape minigames.
That I can get behind.

I don't think it should revolve around a specific anime though. I think it should just take place in "Neo-Tokyo" (that's been used enough to not align it with any anime in particular) and have incorporate everything anime: mechs, martial arts, demons, tentacles, hot chicks(can't have tentacles without them), bounty hunters, motorcycles, aliens (that look human except for one little thing), teen gangs, vampires, pop-singers... that can keep going.
It would be very cool if it had that Valkyria Chronicles/Okami living manga look.

i think the game might be a good idea i just wondent class it as a gta game because it wouldnt be what i would want from one because i think that if i was picking up a gta game i would want it to be about drug, crime, stealing hellicopters lol owe and adult humour xD

but it could be still a good game personally am not to keen on anime but i can see that it might be a good game

And it's getting a sequel. But the term "anime" is so damned broad, that what you are saying can't work in a sense. It's like saying "I want it comic book style with super heroes etc" because not all comics are about super heroes, like not all anime is about mechs.

You seem to mean a sandbox game with mecha, from where I'm standing.
