I like the steel armor and Thieve's Guild armor the best, actually. So much of the rest of it is just too overdesigned. Oddly enough, this is especially true on the light armor side of things, which got on my nerves. I wish it wasn't so clear-cut that certain armor-types are always better. Make a unique steel armor set with the protection of Daedric armor.

I'm fond of the Ebony Armor on my claymore swinging Argonian, minus the helmet. A lot of the helmets in this game need a maskless variant.
I've gotten attached to the Dragonscale Armor my sneaky Khajiit is wearing, but I liked the Glass Set she had.
My magic using Khajiit is sporting Fur Armor. Looks good on her and the double enchant perk lets her stay powerful.

I tend to lean towards Elven. It looks cool, and is Light Armor, which is my specialty. But I really don't like the look of my Elven Gilded Armor, though - the shoulder plates make me look too bulky, but I wear it anyways because it was a huge jump in armor points from the regular Elven Armor. But the Apprentice Hood I wear makes my Khajiit look badass, so it kind of evens out. I wear Dark Brotherhood boots along with that (silent steps), and Dwarven Bracers of Eminent Archery. The only reason I haven't ditched those ugly and out-of-place bracers is because of the 30% bonus in Archery damage.

As for weapons, I use my Ebony bow almost exclusively, and when close-quarters becomes a must, I switch to either magic or my Dawnbreaker/ Grimsever + magic combo.

So recently, I've found myself particularly drawn to several weapon sets in in Skyrim due to their looks. I've always loved Dwarven weapons - they have all the bling of weapons made of gold due to that wonderful Dwarven metal, and they also look practical and to-the-point (no pun intended). The warhammer in particular looks badass.

I also really like Steel - weapons from there have cool patterning all over them (particularly the War Axe) without looking overly flashy or ineffective. Too bad it's one of the weaker weapon sets (though you also get Skyforge Steel, which is much more powerful and looks the same).

Finally, there's Glass, which just looks ridiculously pretty and elegant. "An elegant weapon from a more civilized age", indeed.

So guys, what's your favourite? I haven't talked about armour much, because I don't pay much attention to it - but feel free to mention that, too. Sadly, there was no room for an "other" option on the poll, so if you like the mini-sets such as Falmer or Imperial just say so in the thread.
Some of the Assassin stuff is pretty cool, and I also like the steel one. My current character is wearing Wolf Armor/boots, imperial bracers, a steel horned helmet and looks extremely kickass. One of my other favs is the Nightingale armor. Beautiful.

Edit:
Weapons: The Skyforge steel 2h-sword, daedric dagger, the Daedric prince dagger (unique), Wuuthrad and the Blades 1h-sword. The glass swords are also quite awesome imo.

I love the dwarven armor the most with dragon coming in a close second. Whenever you have the whole suit equipped you feel like an ancient Romanesque Robocop. The dragon armor is just plain badass, especially because of how many dragons you have to kill to make it.

I love my fully enchanted Glass armor; I don't know what it is but I like that green color.

I do have a full set of enchanted Ebony armor(Got the armor itself from a random encounter with high-elf that was throwing ice attacks at me out of nowhere, he was wearing of course. I sort of like the looks of it, but I like wearing armor that I can at least see some of my face while in it.

I gave that Ebony armor to Lydia.

Ebony is too stereotypical "badass black death armor" or whatever. I use Dragonscale armor (which I like the simplicity of) for the practicality, but I still hold onto a Glass Sword because they're classy. Decapitate dudes like a sir.

I'm torn between the bird-like visuals of the elvish weapons, and the leaf-like curves of the glass weapons. They're both too awesome.

Dwarven stuff is very warrior-of-good-and-awesome (except for the helmets, they look silly), so it fits very well with the whole "heavy knight charging into battle thing."

IMO, though, the best looking set is female Orcish with Otar as the head-cover when you're going with a dual-wielding berserker kind of style. Functional, brutal, and honestly not something I'd want charging at me in battle, yet still visually appealing.

I'm a big fan of the glass armor in Skyrim. The more muted color palette was a VAST improvement over the neon green bullshit that they had in Oblivion and Morrowind. For heavy armors, I liked the steel plate. It was a good, basic looking armor set. One thing that always pissed me off was that I was never able to create a legitimate looking paladin/shining knight type character because if I wanted my armor to be more effective than toilet paper, I had to wear ebony or daedric armor. Steel Plate was a step in the right direction.

I'm surprised that ebony has the highest number of votes. To me, it looks absolutely awful. Like a goddamn hunchback without a neck and elf ears. My guy doesn't even wear armor. He just wears clothes. He's very fashionable.

Scaled armor was favorite of mine.. though dragonscale isn't half bad if you don't wear the weird helmet.
