Right first of all, I'm not going to say "am i teh only one" cause no one's ever the only one, but am I in the minority that is actually agreeing with this?

Sniping is long range, precision shooting, and each game has to hold to this, no matter what it's trying to be. To be able to one shot any player in the map, regardless of range is just ridiculous. It's utterly game-breaking.

I'm just wondering how many people are agreeing with this essentially.

Yeah I agree with in being a precision weapon. No issues with the nerf. Though it would probably be a vicious nerf for a console gamer.

I hate it, not because I quickscope, I think quickscoping is stupid. I hate it because I watch over an area unscoped and scope when I see an enemy, now you have to be scoped for over a second to even be able to hit, the time you need to wait is far too long, most quickscoperes don't even leave the scope up long enough to aim with them, why punish the rest of us?

And as for the 1 hit kill thing, that's only bolt action sniper rifle, which get at most 5 shots before having to reload and can only fire every other second, an assault rifle can kill more people in a shorter amount of time than the sniper rifle.

I have yet to actually play it, but I like what I see so far. In terms of the game I think quick scoping shouldn't be possible or at least not possible in the way it is now. Cod4 it took a good deal of skill, but was still pretty far fetched in terms of should it/shouldn't it be in the game because its use wasn't widespread. It had no place in WAW, and in MW2 it was ridiculous.

Straight up there should not be a peak that allows snipers to zoom in super fast and for that to be coupled with the auto aim mechanic to produce cheap kills. That's not frustration, its not jealousy of the 'skill' it took to do that, it was an exploit, if you make use of an exploit I don't consider that legitimate skill, and I believe that part of the game to be broken.

If you happen to score a kill like that it should be purely based on luck. Snipers should not be used close quarters and if you try use it that way you should get killed.

From what I have seen the zoom in time is closer to COD4's time, which is fine, it also randomizes the position of the cross-hairs, which I believe to be fine too, especially since its more in line with what would actually happen. Where I think the problem might occur is with the seeming delay it takes in actually getting a hit.

The post patch clips out there of attempted no scopes have shown that even if the cross hairs are on someone when you zoom in, if you fire straight away you miss 100% of the time. That's where the MW2 quickscopers are gonna stop playing immediately.

As I said I haven't played the game and I am a firm believe in snipers being used properly, aka taking time and shooting from a distance. But while improved I can see this being a problem for some people. It doesn't affect how I play in the slightest but I can see how it would.

Is it perfect? I doubt it. Is it improved, oh fuck yes.

You make a good point. I have a friend who snipes alot, and does it the exact same way you do it. Personally I switch between watching unscoped and scoped, so this will probably cause alot of frustration inducing moments for even people who do snipe properly.

As far as I can tell however there isn't much else to be done to fix the problem of quick scopers. Perhaps make it so it only happens if you're within a certain range of an enemy? I'm not entirely sure that's a better solution though..
