Being a shameless rip off of another thread, I ask you a similar question.
A train is speeding towards one of two groups.

Group one consists of three pregnant women.
(All three mothers are five months pregnant, have no intentions of having an abortion and are all happily married.)

Group two consists of five orphans.(each five years old with no other family.)

You can only save one group, no ambiguity one group will die with no survivors.

Option 3 is for those who would do nothing out of fear of being held responsible for the deaths.
(regardless of whether they can or can't be held responsible.)

I'm sorry if the poll doesn't show.

The pregnant women probably, their deaths will affect more people than the orphans I think. However if I had to think quickly I may end up going for the orphans first.

The pregnant women of course. Their children will make up for the loss of the orphans.

It seems like an entirely arbitrary choice to me; none of the people involved have any connection to me, and for all I know they all `deserve' equally to go on living. Thus I object to the latter option being out of `fear' and not just out of apathy.

My first thought was 5 orphans, And, i dont think you could have a long time to think, so I will keep it at that

well, if you save the pregnant women, you are potentially saving 6 people, all with possible potential and people who love them.

Not too sound harsh, but the orphans won't have parents or as many loved ones most likely, so letting the pregnant women die will most likely have a bigger affect on more people lives, which is why I would save them...

Maybe but those husbands could adopt the orphans after they lost their wives.

hmmm... it seems another dilemma has entered into the mix...

I would probably save the ones that were closer to me I guess.

I'd save the orphans, because I don't see unborn fetuses as having human rights, and also I feel that children's lives are worth more than those of adults.

Why is that?
Because young children are special. They are free from the sin and inpurity which plagues older humans. Those orphans are innocent and therefore from my moral perpective deserve life more.

The key word there is "will", from my moral perpective I value existing lives as more important than potential lives.

TBH i think if you stand on train tracks for more than 30 seconds you deserve to die for lacking common sense.

I watch until the train has passed, then I check for loot.
Then again, if I save the orphans, I may be able to brainwash them into becoming my loyal minions...
They probably don't have as much loot as the adult women anyway...

Lets see, if I save the women, I get nothing...
If I save the orphans, I get the loot from the women and 5 loyal minions...
If I save none, I get the loot from the women, but no minions...

Well, I think the choice is obvious.

EDIT: Before I thought about it, I voted to take no responsibility... So count 1 less from that and 1 more for saving the orphans...

You do realize they will eventually grow into 'sinful and impure' humans? Children are not special, they're just naive enough to make them appear cute.

Fetuses are no different. They just have a longer delay.

Anyways, for me, I'd go for the oprhans, just 'cause they've already been abandoned by their parents, no need for any more hardships, not even death.

If "IRobot" taught me one thing, it is that the children with parents are most likely to survive, and must be saved first.

So, the women.
