I certainly dont

I mean it just feels kind of pointless, And it would be really annoying if a preaquel to one of my favorite movies/game franchises came out because then I wouldn't want to have to sit through it but I would feel guilty for not seeing it because I'm suposed to be a fan of what ever it is, I mean some things we dont really need to know

I could be wrong though there may be some good prequels out there

and some pretty bad ones too

I have an incredibly difficult time thinking of a single decent prequel. I guess people like MGS3, but I've never played it.

I present to you...DEVIL MAY CRY 3....The best of all the series!!

Plus MGS3 did it right too, and we can't forget the GODLY Kingdom Hearts Birth By Sleep!!

It's strange how sometimes you can find a prequel more interesting than the originals at times, but that's a sign of a good prequel.

Trust me, if the franchise is good then the prequels are more than likely worth it.

Being a fan of a speaker doesn't mean you have to agree with their stances, you can just think they're a good speaker. Same thing applies to me for video games/movies.

Did that make sense to you? no? Damn.

Anyway, 9/10 times if the publisher isn't activision/EA, that means the studio gave a damn enough about the story to complete it, which means they probably will do it justice/make it worthwhile.

Anything has the potential to be good, so it just depends on if it's good or not. For example, Kingdom Hearts: Birth by Sleep. I absolutely adore that game, and so far, i's doing its job of explaining rather nicely.

I don't necessarily like or hate prequels as a whole. If they do a good job explaining some things that weren't adequately explained in the later entries, then I see them as something definitely worth experiencing.

know what? I liked the Star Wars Prequels. were they perfect? no, but ey they were pretty good and added some depth to the srory. I think the idea of a prequel is kinda gimmicky in general (Star Wars already had lore of what had happened in the past, in general no one cares)

Prequels are good.
It means the game/movie/book to which they are the prequel (ie the... sequel?) doesn't have to excessively describe the history of the world and characters. You can just recieve a vague mention of an ancient war, if you want to know more you get the prequel.

Sometimes. I mean, sometimes their actually GOOD. People just have a bad taste for them after the star wars movies.

Eh, either way. And it's always a win if their good, a la "Halo Reach". Yeah, I LIKED Reach. Say whatever you want about it, but it's proven to be Microsoft's best release so far.

Depends on how good the actual prequel is.

For instance, Clone Wars = Epic Fail.

I like it when backstory is given for a particular series that I like. I always like some more story with my series.

Prequels are generally doomed to fail, unless they answer questions nobody asked. What people imagine happened is usually more personally fulfilling than whatever can be used as a cannon answer later.

Of cause I'm just speaking story, they can still make for good games.
