It?s pretty straight forward. Is anyone else getting alerts from their internet security software saying you have a virus or getting redirected to a different page saying "OMG YOU HAVE A VIRUS DOWNLOAD THIS SHIT TO GET RID OF EM!" bs? I've been using the escapist since Zero Punctuation only had a few videos to show and never had any issues til now.

Before anyone asks the two alerts I got were for a "JS_OBFUSCA.SM" and "MAL_FAKEAVO". The alert for the "JS" one said it was untraceable which is odd since if its "untraceable" how did my software find it but when I tried to go to the file location I couldn't access it since I couldn't get it to show up no matter what I tried. I just deleted the section of files that led to where the virus was supposed to be hopeing that did the trick. The "MAL" one was easier since it wasn't "untraceable" and I deleted the file location. A full system later my software says my computer is clean.

Here is more details on how I got them. I went to my favorites bar, clicked the shortcut for the escapist and was sent to the mainpage. The first time I can't remember which video link I clicked but that was about a month ago (JS). The other one happened the same way on the 17th of this month (Mal). However today I clicked the link for the Dawn of War II: Retribution trailer and was redirected to a fake "Control Panel" page where it "scanned" my computer and told me I had a lot of viruses on my computer and to download here to get rid of them. Of course I didn't and used my task manager to close the page.

Anyone else having issues or have any suggestions?

I've not had any issues with mine, is your browser up to date? The Escapist isn't exactly 4chan, it's pretty tight! It could be either a false-positive or you've got another virus on your system somewhere causing problems?

It's probably just a bug in your antivirus software. (I say, without knowing anything about computers :p)
There was a thread on this a little while ago.

Apparently some people think it's an issue with google chrome?

It's not from Chrome. I use it and haven't had any problems. Then again, I use Kaspersky and I never have problems. If it's not a hacked ad, it's probably a virus on your computer. And the tech support here said they checked the ads so I don't know.
