Occassionally (almost always when posting something large and well thought out...) I get this HTTP:404 error.

Now, I don't so much care that it happens, but my fury heads towards the fact that the post that I've just spent 20 minutes thinking about and posting, has just been deleted.

By a Fucking Error .

Now I'm curious if anyone else is suffering this occassionally, and if anyone asks I'm using IE.

Yup, it's happened to me a couple of times. Perhaps the most annoying occurence was during a Michael Moore thread where I had loads of shit piled up against him, and when I went to submit the post, I was smacked with an HTTP:404.

I sometimes get a random error that makes it impossible to load a page.(some "sixpack" error, never bothered looking at it) Never got it from posting a message though, usually it's when I go to my profile. I've bookmarked my profile, a lot simpler than navigating everywhere from the main page.

Whenever I get the error, I just wait a while and I'm able to resume wasting time reading random threads.

In order to avoid such situations, I always copy my text before posting so I can easily paste it into the box again if something goes wrong. Make it a habbit, and eventually things like this won't be as bothersome.

Not on the Escapist, anyway. But it's happened to me at other forums, and now if I write a large post, I hit CTRL-C before sending.

That only occurs when the thread has been deleted since you refreshed the page.

403 results when the thread has been locked since you refreshed the page.
