It looks absolutely ridiculous. Apes go in contention with the entire planet? Sorry, no...we win by sheer numbers, not to mention the ammo, guns, tanks, helicopters, fighter jets, missiles...etc...etc. It would be the most one sided fight in the history of the world. I know I won't be touching this movie. It makes no sense at all.

I thought it was silly as soon as I saw the trailer. They're doing all this science talk and all kinds of stuff like that and then suddenly it becomes Planet of the Apes? That was the last thing I expected.

I mean it looks like it would be an enjoyable watch but...how would apes overrun an entire army? (from the looks of the trailers anyway) but also from the trailers i saw some VERY derpy shit like for example: one of them had a guy charging a friggen gorilla on a horse with what looks like a night stick...i mean...really? ok sure they were on a tight bridge but still..i don't think APCs are THAT big...: alright maybe an ape would be able jump into a helicopter if it's close enough but that brings up another point...how would apes...survive airstrikes of any kind? not to mention Tanks...and other armored vehicles.
I don't know i might be thinking too much about it
or i may be fucking retarded...anyway what are your thoughts on this?
I think you're missing the bigger point here. Wasn't the ORIGINAL Planet of the Apes silly?

I admit I wouldn't mind watching it if it apear on TV but I ain't watching it in the cinema. From the latest trailer I saw this morning it look like I would be in favour of the apes (from the trailer it show Caeser being abuse).
I do got to agree that how the apes take over the world seen impossible due to use owning tanks, guns etc. Beside if the humans were evil and desperate enough they would slaughter all ape, gorilla and monkey animal around the world before they became smart.
Who knows maybe Caeser somehow past that smart chemical thing to all the apes around the continment somehow.

The whole process of the chimp gaining intelligence and becoming smarter than humans could be interesting, but that moment he goes all ape-Guevara is just a poor excuse to circumvent the slow and grandual evolution of apes becoming dominate over man from the first movie.

I think it's completely stupid that they're going to try to do a prequel to a classic that didn't need one. To me, it's spitting in the face of the original more than the damn remake did (and I hated that one too).

This, hence why I enjoyed both Inception, and Sucker Punch. Sucker Punch moreso, mainly because it had some concepts I had been waiting for a movie to make involving dreams for a very looooong time. Dragons and WW2 bombers? Oh hell the fuck yes.

Personally, I fail to see why this movie is considered silly, considering it's in a series which has always been about apes taking over said planet, and that there are much ridiculous movies out there.

More or less this. Enjoy the premise, not matter how ridiculous and just be entertained (providing that type of film is your thing).

The reason I think it's going to be retarded is that it's not going to be about apes rising up and taking over the world as much as it is going to be about 'what has science done?' and 'corporations are bad!' and the little science boy's girlfriend who doesn't approve of what he does and blah blah human drama a la Transformers.

I liked the old movies, the new one seems a bit 'meh'

Still, if it gets decent reviews I'll give it a try
