Poll: Anyone here sick of seeing Russians as bad guys in every movie/videogame/novel?

I hate it because all they're doing is beating a dead horse. Now setting makes a world of difference, if a game is set during the cold war or WW2 it's understandable that you'd have Russians or Germans as the bad guys.

But when you have a modern setting, it's a different story.

Red Dawn was a silly and dumb movie back in the 80s when there still was a cold war going on. The fact they tried to remake that in modern settings just makes it insultingly bad taste (MW2 of course!).

Are you kidding? The fact that half of MW2 is Red Dawn: The Video game is awesome. They should have put some Wolverines action in there too!!

But seriously, the Russian thing is getting really stale but I love how in MW2 in the diner spec op how many times I've blurted out "the Russians are rushin' us!!"

No it doesn't bother me at all and while a change of pace would be nice I don't think North Korea is a great choice since they get mad if you so much as sneeze at them. Not like they would be able to do much for that long I just wouldn't want South Korea to suffer for my selfish want of a new enemy for my video game. Though I could see changing pace by using the British or something as the enemy but thats probably predictable because its a fact that 99% of villains in anything are British.

I'm not as sick of the russians as I am of the Germans. Why aren't the Dutch ever villains? They started the slave trade between Africa and America.

bieng russian myself, i didnt really care who the bad guys were. when i stumbled uopno some new FPS games, i was like ''hey look, russians'', and repeat that 300 times, i was like
''ugh russians''

its all becasue americans who love war, overhype when they won the war. in fact look at this.

then they overreacted when they won the cold war, forcing many ukrainians to flee, the country, causing massive unemployment, loos of homes, poverty and makijng russia little hell, but atleast you can say bad things about communists!

The US had a thing for portraying the English guy as the baddie. Now that has moved on to I'd say more Middle Eastern people than Russian. Good for me.

I don't see why they were the bad guys in the first place, Russia is a pretty awesome country.
