Poll: apple: the portable king

Apple is good at what its doing right now with the ipods, iphone, and even the ipad. They have their followers, they have their casual ipod fans. Do you think that apple should start to sway away from actual computers and stick to the overpriced portable things that sell?

Strictly speaking the iPad...IS a computer.

Apple will stick to whatever sells. At the moment, that's pretty much anything with the Apple sticker on it.

It's been the way of the market for the last 20 years for Apple to come up with a good idea, dominate the market for a while and then get pushed back to niche status when competitors come up with similar solutions for a lower cost. This will happen again with the smartphone and tablet markets.

Apple should just be what Apple is.

Really, though, I wouldn't like if there were no Mac computers out there. I mean, would we really want to see what Microsoft would do without any corporate rival? I mean, when it comes to computers, Apple plays the "Bad guy."
(and those Open source OSs are wild cowboys in a completely different part of the map)

People need someone to antagonize. With computers, it might as well be Apple.

Actually, I should be saying, "God Bless Steve Jobs," or something like that. The last two times I said something pro-PC, my otherwise well-behaved macbook started freaking out. >.>

No. Apple should keep making over priced computers just so I have something to rage about. I don't know what's worse, Apple selling overpriced electronics or people queueing up to buy them but at the very least it gives me something to facepalm over.

As much as I would prefer that Apple stop cursing the world with Macs, some people seem to like them so no.
