It depends on the oranges. If you're talking satsumas, then oranges win hands-down.

But between those thick-skinned bastards and apples, I'm afraid the apples would win.
De-clothing a 'proper' orange is a chore. Painful peel under your fingernails, juice squirting hither and thither etc.
Not a good gig.

Oranges still win for taste, though.

I've got nothing against smoothies, but if I have the choice I'd go with a fruit salad.

Oranges are tastier but i'm not always in the mood for them. Apples are good all around.

to be honest i prefer "perfect" oranges to "pefect" apples, but most oranges you get nowadays are either bitter or plasticy or have skins that cling on for dear life making you pull it off in about a thousand pieces (plus they taste like having a dirty hedgehog in your mouth if youve brushed your teeth in the last 5 hours)
