Hear me out first. While having teleporters and turrets and stuff is fine, and actually quite necessary for any worthwhile defence, they have so many dirty low-down features that i cant stand.
1. The ability to block off doorways with dispencers. Not intentional folks, its cheating.
2. If you set your stuff up right, you can pretty much get the highest score in the server just by holding down crouch and whacking your turret for days on end (which requires zero skill)
3. Usually, the awesomeness of a turret or user-deployable automated...thingy is inversely proportionate to the standalone power of the wielder. that is, if the turret is great (it is) then the engi himself should be defenceless alone. (he isnt). REMOVE THE SHOTGUN
4. Very petty thing the whine about, but the enourmous range and damage of the wrench. you can get hit from across the room by that bloody thing.

Am I onto something here, or am I a biased spy?

And the fact that they would be terribly underpowered if they were defenceless by themselves. The point of the sentries is to give a point to Demomen, and calli out the inner teamworking person you have, by "ubercharges", or other means of destroying sentries.

Sentries are easy to kill with proper teamwork or a well placed Demoman. Quit whining because you're not a team person.

Just one demo can take out a sentry VERY easily.

Also, you don't really get one certain guy killed by the sentry more than once, unless they're suffering of some sort of brain damage.

And, the wrench is exactly the same as the most other melee weapons.

Engineer just has a really low skill level, that doesn't make them cowards it just means they can duck. Sniper is more of a coward if you ask me and I play as him all the time.

Alternatively SWITCH TO DEMOMAN.

1. Entirely intentional, enemies can't walk through Engi buildings and if you fall foul of that it's your own fault. Just call up a demoman, soldier or sniper. They can all put a dispenser down in 2 hits or less from a distance.
2. The skill is setting up in the right spot and managing your resources you great pudding!
3. Engi goes down like a ***** if his buildings are gone, the shotgun is a back up weapon for other classes. His weapons are average at best and he's slow.
4. The wrench doesn't have that big a range, it's no worse than demo, sniper or scout's melee.

A ha, spy and not a very good one by the sound of it, learn to work in tandem with a Sniper and Engineers will be nothing but a minor annoyance. Honestly there's nothing you've brought up that can't be rapidly dealt with via a little bit of team work.

They aren't cowards, they're a valuable chunk of you team's defence.

Now, demomen are cowards.

1) 'nade spam into tunnels for easy kills.
2) Sticky spam on points for easy kills.
3) Only move forward when invulnerable or Heavy in front.
4) Covers spies in friendly explosions so they can be seen easier.
5) Kills people while running away.
6) Far greater phallic obsession than the Heavy.
7) Get Invulnerability and swamp a Sentry nest with no risk to themselves and massive points to be had.

Can you imagine what the servers will be like when the Demoman Achievements come out??????

There probably turtling if it's a pub game of 2fort or Dustbowl. Use an uber, they won't know what to do.

I disagree, I think the wrench is the best overall melee weapon in the game. It has a gigantic crit rate and high damage.

Any class can take out a sentry (If you know where it is ofc) I really look forward to the new wrench so I can play offensive sentry better o/

Not really. The Engineer's more of a subtle defensive class than an aggressive total-offense class anyway. It's meant to be a class where being careful is part of the job requirements.

Alright.

Heres the Scenario.


Courtyard of 2fort. 1 sentry on the right corner, one in the door to the forward base. One in the very middle to lure spies. A good spy could take them all down. With ease. Just run around, destroy it, be an annoyance. Especially if you have a soldier. You just gotta distract the engineers so he can either kill them, or the guns.


That or just be a Demoman.



So no. They aren't cheap.

The dispenser blocking the 2fort door only for the blue team is bullshit. On the red side you can crouch over it.

New dispenser should be small and built on a wall to hide it better.

Crit chances are 15% (i think) for all melee weapons, but sentries deal a lot of damage and damage increase crit chance. Thats why it always appears to crit.

its just more awesome. unless you count the white Mike Tyson/Heavy.

Hey...I'm a demoman and I don't do that. I use the Demoman as a defensive class and rarely go out and attack.

No, they are not cowards, it's called defending. People tend to confuse it with cowardice quite a lot.
