Are racist jokes funny? You hear them all the time. From friends, The Boondocks, various sitcoms. Do they make you laugh? Or do you sit there and frown at them?
Excuse me, the correct term is African American. The Maddest March Hare said:Joking light heartedly about race issues is always a good thing. Laughter helps people relax and as long as the joke was in good nature then it's fine. If we can't laugh at something, we can't take it properly seriously either, because to take something seriously you need to see both sides.
Joking about someone to the point of taking the piss, simply because of their race, however, is not ok. It will never be okay. And it should never be done.
Sadly, knee jerk reactions have made everything remotely racially inclined a taboo, and as such the meddling old ladies who call the police because a teenager walked past their street 3 hours ago while they watched from behind a lace curtain, will prevail once more.
Oh and Charizard is black.
