Are racist jokes funny? You hear them all the time. From friends, The Boondocks, various sitcoms. Do they make you laugh? Or do you sit there and frown at them?

I laugh at them most of the time. As long as they don't go too far, they are fine by me.

And Charizard is orange.

So long as they don't go over the top, or the guy making the joke isn't serious, I find them fine and amusing.

I hate the ones that try way to hard to be funny.
It's good to have a sense of humour, this world needs it.

Racist jokes can be funny, as long as they're taken as they are: humor. However, I do think that racist jokes are inappropriate in public and such. Because children catch on to them, and then they latch on to the stereotypes.

The Boondocks is one of the greatest shows ever.

I think if the person or source from whence they have come is telling them more to laugh at the stereotype than because they're actually a racist then they can be funny. I have friends who tell racist jokes from time to time, but none of them are actually racist, the target of the joke isn't to enforce the stereotype but more of to laugh at how silly it is. On the other hand, if someone's telling racist jokes and they're clearly a racist, it's not so funny so much as it is disgusting.

I think it's a mix of perspective and lightening up a subject which makes it appear okay to then separate or discriminate based on the same reasoning.
Anyway, just woke up, topic less than a week old.

Joking light heartedly about race issues is always a good thing. Laughter helps people relax and as long as the joke was in good nature then it's fine. If we can't laugh at something, we can't take it properly seriously either, because to take something seriously you need to see both sides.

Joking about someone to the point of taking the piss, simply because of their race, however, is not ok. It will never be okay. And it should never be done.

Sadly, knee jerk reactions have made everything remotely racially inclined a taboo, and as such the meddling old ladies who call the police because a teenager walked past their street 3 hours ago while they watched from behind a lace curtain, will prevail once more.

Oh and Charizard is black.

I love racist trap jokes.
What do you call a bunch of Japanese in the subway?
Passengers!
See? See? That's what I meant! Everyone expects something racist... it's funny because it's true.

But I'm fine with good real racist jokes too. As long as it's not KKK-style "What do you say to a N?gger[footnote]yes, that was a Southpark reference, no censoring[/footnote] on a cross that's on fire? Burned!" it's okay. I'd laugh about anti-white jokes too if I ever heard some.

You get a muffin for that, because I was hoping someone would say it.

As long as it doesn't go too far, they're fine. I mean for Christ's sake, I've ran around with a pile of hubcaps claiming I'm too tired to stop being a stereotype. So I can take light racist jokes.
