I liked UF, it had it's hits and misses and home runs. All shows do. But holy crap is the page with the letter depressing, lol.

I thought the contract ran out or something.
Besides, on the UR website the creator says that he will continue/finish if enough people buy the forthcoming DVDs, so "the people" can decide whether or not they want him to continue/finish.

That was a joke. I have a bigger and harder job then I did two weeks ago trying to keep this internet video business ship a float. Unforgotten Realms episodes will be on hold until we reach a certain amount of DVDs sells to let me finish this season and the next!

Straight from his site...if the escapist did in fact outright drop him I applaud them, as a person who followed UR from the beginning (the original version) I liked Rob less and less, every time I hear anything from him he seems like a self serving egotistical person who would trow anyone under the bus to benefit himself or for his own fancy. The show was great, but then it went down hill and after a point just seemed to be something he banged out when he wasn't on whatever MMO he was playing (seriously look at the side characters and then look at the guy who sold them mounts in the previous episode, it is beyond sad.)

I liked the original few episodes, but the show went downhill after that - what little I saw of the latest episodes were terrible, they seemed to re-use the same jokes over and over (mainly due to the 1 dimensional characters) and the storyline had gone completely off-the-wall.

I don't really care about it, because I never really watched it but if it means a better show will fill it's place then I guess I'm pleased.

I didn't watch it so i'm not to distraught about it. I'm going to watch an episode to see if it is good.
edit: currently watching one...its not that great so i can see why they cancelled it. I feel sorry for the creaters though

Cancelled? O Rly?

If this were say a year ago when the show was still good I might have actually given two shits about it, but it was bound to happen sooner or later. I guess you have to make way for osme of the new and better shows.

Who knows, maybe one day Yahtzee will lose his luster and will be dropped for a newer, funnier show.

It was a good show and im not happy that its cancelled but im not angry. Its plot development was getting slow. I liked the original first series on the urealms.com site and maybe if he continues creating it, it will return to its original brilliance.

I'm not upset with the Escapist, but I enjoyed the show thoroughly. Even the slow bits, I found respect for what they were doing, and what they had to do.

I'd buy a DVD, but my money's tight. Gotta' replace my hard drive...

Only enjoyed the first season.

Went downhill quite fast after that, I did try to like it though. :/

Pretty much this. A show is only good as long as it's good, then it's not.

For example, I love the Highlander TV series, but once it started going downhill in Season 5 I decided to quit watching. I have it on good authority the show did NOT get better. Same goes for Smallville. It was good for a few seasons, but then it went into serious filler territory. Filler is the last bastion of the complete hack. Creative writers are always striving to stay out of the "rut" so many shows fall into (which is part of what was so great about the Highlander TV series, actually).

I'll admit, it took a little while for the show to grow on me, but as time went on, I really saw what a cleverly-written little gem it is. Sure, the Harry Potter parody story-arc was a little bit contrived, but what's a small blemish? I still want to see what happens next.

It was quite good, but after a while it seemed to run out of steam. I think its a sensible idea to stop it, before they kill the memory.
