Poll: Are you computer-literate?

i know how to make this thing run, but i dont want to go poking about inside of the magical box
i just dont want to turn a £5 cable problem into me needing a new computer... (it will happen)

I've taken my computer apart a few times, mainly to fix my damned fans. As for software, i'm pretty capable at that too.
I'm lucky in a sense that all my friends and classmates are computer fanatics, so at least one of us can create a solution to our problems.

I have never bought a pre-built system. I always build my own computers. I never go to computer shops and I always fix my own system problems. If I can't fix a problem I do research on on the Internet how to fix said problem. I also have a degree in Network and Computer Support Technology. I used to do Junior Network Administration work on a Novell/Windows NT Network back in the late 90's before the Dot Com crash. So yah, I am pretty computer literate. I just wish I was n awesome programmer. If I was good at that I would be making a six figure salary at some game making company creating game engines and graphics shaders.

Quite good at the software, although how the hell the hardware works in this thing still completely baffles me.

I'm more software than hardware, but I am quite computer literate. And will people stop asking me to fix their PCs for them!!
