I Got to be thinking more along the Eco lines about a year back, At the start it was more to do with reducing the electric bill then from then ive gone outta my way to be Eco Friendly, Hell Even my Mobile/Cell Phone is a Sony Ericsson Greenheart
www.sonyericsson.com/greenheart

My New LCD is a BenQ V2210 Eco that uses about 27% less Energy while giving great picture even the box is recycled and using SoyInk xD

Our Lightbulbs are all Energy Saver, every appliance we have is an A Grade Appliance, we recycle Paper and Bottles all the time.

What do you guys do, if at all? do you think its important?

We recycle pretty much everything we can, but that's about all we do. It seems like we do more than most people though.

I recycle pretty much anything I can, but other than that I am relatively wasteful. The truth is that if you're living a western lifestyle it's not possible to be eco friendly, it's just possible to be less environmentally harmful than others. The western lifestyle, ultimately, isn't going to be sustainable, and even though I live it, I try to be aware of how harmful it really and truly is.

Not really. You can't make me drive a Prius. I recycle a lot of stuff, though.

No. I recycle and do my part, but I'm not calling myself Eco friendly because that means everything I own is puke green and I act like a hippy whenever someone throws something away.

So yes, in that I do shit, but I don't like the superiority attitude.

Don't worry, it was the right way too put it, and you seem to actually care, it's just most people who say it only do so because it's trendy. Ruining a perfectly good phrase.

Its kinda like text speech, if your phone was dying and you had to text something, there was text language!

But then people with full goddamn keyboards started using it all the time and it's impossible to use seriously.

I do recycle and I do buy the planet friendly brand as long as it isn't too much more expensive. I do question how much the brands are planet friendly and how much of it is a marketing ploy. I cannot call myself eco friendly or green as the people I know who use those terms to define themselves scare me. While it is important to take care of the only thing keeping me alive (earth), I prefer my own terms to define myself; machiavellian, Gamer, and Ticking time bomb.

The only time humans will give their all to save the planet is when they are about to die due to the mistreatment we have put it through. Though we should thank those people who are the greenest. Thank you Native tribes and the Amish you may never read this but you are protecting the earth more than I ever could.

I only use public transport. It's not exactly because I want to be eco friendly, but because it is, I got no problem with that. I also recycle bottles and occasionally sort out the trash, but I don't really pay too much attention to it. And I don't throw stuff to the nature. So I guess I'm kind of eco friendly, but mainly unintentionally so.

I recycle some, but I do own many energy saving items, but that's more for the monetary gain.

Yes, waste your time and money on inferior products so some dipshit like Al Gore can have a mansion and fly his personal plane wherever and whenever.

Meh. Most of the "eco movement" are an inefficient mob who know nothing, at least in my personal experience. If they actively supported safer ways of generating electricity like nuclear power, I might have liked them more. But simply reducing your quality of life and giving up shit in order to provide a questionable amount of help to the planet is just fucking retarded. It's in the same book as "give away all your material property and you'll have a palace in heaven and a million virgins!", something various cults love to employ.

Well in on one side our attempt to limit our impact on our environment is really just an attempt to detoxify of our habitat. In reality if we wanted to have near zero impact on the environment we would have to start living in grass huts and communing with nature. But most of us are way too reliant on technology and depended outside sources(ie. the supermarket) for basic necessities that not many people would be willing to do that.

On the other side, i use eco-friendly, high efficiency products because they tend to save me money in the long run. I support nuclear power generation do to it's relative cleanliness.
