Yes, of course. I've already preordered it.

What I'm NOT exited about, however, is what will happen to Halo once Bungie is gone and the franchise is taken over by new people.

No, I'm not.
But that might be because I'm biased, I don't have a Xbox. Still, I'll probably have fun playing it with friends, because everyone will have it.

Did you see those new trailers for forge mode! Jesus this game will take us to the new evolution of gaming, just like Halo 1 did back in the day.
Uhm... How was halo 1 revolutionary to gaming?
Are you joking? I have never even owned an Xbox and I know Halo virtually created the FPS genre we know today
Halo really didn't do much new, it did however serve as a benchmark for console FPS games, but the FPS genre we know today have been pretty much the same since half-life and its many mods.

Influential? Yes. Revolutionary? Far from it.

I'm not that excited about it but I do like what I see. I absolutely adore the fact that you can customize your armor and such outside of multiplayer and I love the fact that (at least in the beta) you could set your search preferences so you could be in a silent lobby, a polite lobby or anything else. If that works out well I'll definitely buy the game.

I've played ALL Halos before this, so I will be playing this. Once I start a game series I must finish it.

This one does look good, though it kind of looks like it is taking a shit on the Spartans I've grown to love in the Halo books.

I haven't paid much attention to it but it looks cool and I'll get it before the year is over. I'm more excited for other games coming out this fall.

I'd be more excited about reading the book about the Spartan's time on Reach before it was overrun.

You know, when they were training and developing their skills. The book based around it was really quite fun, and if you have any interest in both Halo and reading...I suggest you read it if you haven't already. :p
what is the name of the book???

Reach is going to improve a LOT on standards set by Halo 3, and I'm genuinely excited - not just because I will buy anything Halo (I will). However, despite all the improvements, changes and so forth we will still see people saying nothing has changed and it's just the same old shit over and over.

Here's a good example of pre-emptive conclusions:

Why should I exactly? Their are better FPSs out there.
Because you've played Halo: Reach in it's entirely and are completely justified in making this call!
Attacking fanboys are fun. I made a pre-emptive call because i was trying to be funny but people get so serious about a game. Even though i never stated the game was bad.

Sure is trendy to hate on Halo. PC elitists/fanboys in particular on this site. But also PS3 fanboys, and (insert other FPS) fanboys.

It's good. No doubt about it after all these years. Personally I thought 3 lacked some luster since it's big new feature (Forge) was rough around the edges. Or is now at least compared to Forge 2.0.

There's gonna be so much stuff to do with Reach it's gonna be super awesome (points for getting the reference). Firefight is heavily improved from ODST's test run with it and Matchmaking will be as solid as ever with the new Quit and Mute bans. Forge speaks for itself and Theatre is always a plus. Custom games will be awesome for couch co-op/multiplayer so the only thing I'm not convinced will be good yet is Campaign. Elites being back will help but I just hope it's more around Halo 2's length than 3's.

Also I respect developers like Bungie and Valve who go out of their way to interact so much with such great communities. So it's fun to go places like B.net to see what's happening more than other sites that don't interact as much.

Yes, it's remarkable how many people are only "trying to be funny" after someone calls them out on how flawed their comments are.

I don't understand it. Halo 3 was OK at best, Halo Wars sucked, and ODST was awful. Why are you people still excited? If anyone is still truely excited I think they are a fanboy (in my opinion anyway)
