I wear what I think looks cool, usually black faded jeans and a geeky T-Shirt. If I had more money, I'd try different things, though. I'm thinking of getting some hats. Maybe trying a more punk look from time to time, as well.

People who try to look fashionable do so only because they are too unimaginative to try to look good.
That said, I often give in to practicality. But then again, practical clothes tend to look quite awesome.

Sort of. I don't follow trends, but I wear clothes that don't really go out of style. So I just look like a normal dude, pretty much. Lots of polos and khakis (though in the picture of me on my profile here, I'm wearing random ass thermals). Throw in some jeans from time to time. I'm never at the height of fashion, but I still look good.
I basically have three modes, where I look like I'm about to either go surfing, hiking, or sailing.

Not really, I come from a very blue collar lower-middle class family so most of my clothing came from places like the Salvation Army. As I got older and starting working outdoors doing construction or in lumberyards, I started to exclusively buy work clothing because of the quality. A $50 pair of Carhartt blue jeans will last me at least three years, whereas a pair of jeans from American Eagle or some other popular retail chain will maybe get 6 or 8 months of wear before they fall apart (I wear the fuck out of my clothes). Most days I'll be wearing Carhartt blue jeans or dungarees with one of my many band t-shirts, and generally a long sleeve cotton plaid shirt.
That said though I do have a suit and a few nice jumpers for when the occasion calls, but those occasions are pretty rare nowadays. On a Friday/Saturday night I'm far more content to go to the shitty bar my friend works at and get free shots then go dress up and chase plastic dolls at some fancy expensive bar downtown.

My girlfriend sometimes teases me about my wardrobe being almost entirely gray. I almost always wear jeans, a gray t-shirt and the same pair of sneakers, so I'm pretty much clueless when it comes to fashion.

I'm as fashionable as an obese, relatively poor male can be. I'm completely obsessed with women's fashion, but considering men's fashion moves at the rate of a wheelchair bound glacier (Pants, just re invent them every year in different fabrics and perhaps have them too skinny or short for your body, p.e.r.f.e.c.t) I try to dress in my own "little way". If neons are "in" I go completely crazy and spend my entire wallet on anything that might burn the nearest stranger's eyes out with, or if the colour palette looks like a manic depressive turtle's bathroom colour scheme, I don't buy clothes until the next trend rolls along. I have the confidence to wear whatever, but finding "whatever" that will fit me is DAMN DIFFICULT.

I facepalm whenever I see women with the perfect figure to dress in anything they so desire and they don't; for instance you see someone whos 5"11 and she's in black leggings, an overbearingly figure less tunic and £150 Uggs. EURGH, go into Primark, find the nearest set of high waisted, over sized pants, buy a pair and put them with a cute £6 blouse and some chunky wedges. You have the figure, the look will suit you, and you will look GORG. People WILL compliment you and look at you as if you're fashion jesus. In short, if you have the figure for something, don't waste your days looking like an enslaved, 50 something house wife; empower yourself. You can be casual and still look amazing, don't think that those UGGS are doing you any favours.
In regards to men, I laugh at you when you think that pair of plum chinos go with that Fred Perry polo and those River Island high tops. You look like a sheep. Stop it.

Sort of, because Yes I consider myself fashionable, which doesn't imply that I have the money or time to dress fashionable but that I posses the quality.

Fashion is a self expression/art thing, I say bullshit to brands and popularity, It's 'unique and inspired' in my opinion.
No I'm not talking about the crazy themed art shows I'm talking about ridiculous and impractical character designs in say JRPG's for example.
Perhaps Style is the word I should be using but whatever.
If we are talking about brands and popularity then take my sort of and make it an absolute no, twice.

I do like aesthetical clothing, and would like to wear something like that. I do enjoy designing outfits or thinking about outfits, thoughmostlyuniversally female outfits. Which is an enjoyable part of character design for me.
But I dislike "showing off", and always feel uncomfortable if I wear something that looks good. But I also try to avoid wearing what could be considered really lazy.
So I end up wearing decent clothing, with a secret desire to wear something really elegant.

In my own way I think. I'm a sucker for retro/rockabilly/greaser fashion, so I'll thrift and sew my own stuff. I'll stick to _a_ style, but probably not what the trendy magazines would try to sell you.
