Poll: Are you happy?

I have some great friends, I have a non-leaking roof over my head, I have good parents and two younger brothers. Due to a side job I recently had I have a nice amount of money on the bank, so I can buy something I might want in the future. I have some problems when it comes to education but nothing I can't overcome, I go to school everyday.
I have connection to the internet, and I listen to beautiful music. I don't have a girlfriend at the moment but I am fairly confident I will not die stone cold alone.

I think this is about as happy as a reasonably average person can get both in the spiritual sense and materialistic. There's no reason anybody in my position should be anything less than 'content'.

My two beautiful children are healthy, my relationship wife my gorgeous, sexy and intelligent wife is great, and my job sucks ass although I work with great people. So yeah, I'm really happy. I stopped fretting and getting down because I wasn't rising through the ranks but I took stick of all the good and let's face it I have no right to complain!

I'm happy. While my life was terrible and had nothing to do with my own choices due to my younger age at the time, I realize that. I made my decision, left to live half way across the country, took a chance and I am happy for the outcome. Happiness isn't something that just happens to you, but something you cause to happen through actions you think are best for -you-.

It's something that is selfish in itself, but necessary.

I am "content" because I get government issue drugs. They make me "content", however I am a little ... restless. I can see that objectively I have little to be content about. I feel contented but it is a fake contentment, a form of apathy about the fact that I could be doing a lot better, I know I'd probably be pretty unhappy if it wasn't for awesome government stash, so I am trying to do something about it but due to being "content" I don't really have the motivation necessary to get up and do it.
I have been happy in the past. Very happy in fact, I had pretty much everything going for me for a number of years. But not now.

Yes, I would actually say I'm quite happy. I have my health, a loving family, a great job, some pretty amazing fans, I start at my dream college in just a few months.

There are a few minor things in my life I might not be the biggest fan of, but am I happy? Yo bet I am.

I was diagnosed with an illness which means I am going to have to have an op. However, this has actually cheered me up as it explains some symptoms I have been having for a long time. I am looking forward to being well again and getting fit.

I used to be a cynical misanthrope and actually quite depressed for a few years of my life until I realised I what enjoying what I was doing, I didn't appreciate what I had, and being a miserable person by nature wasn't helping. Now I'm happy pretty much all the time unless something happens that gives good cause for me to be unhappy. I live in a first world country, I'm privileged enough to have a step-dad who's making many times more than the average wage and I have two diferent families that love me, despite one only being step-family. I've got a car, a nice compyter, and plenty good friends. What reason do I have to be unhappy?

That said I'm certainly not one of those relentlessly positive people who tries to see the good part of anything that happens, I'm more just a realist, who realises that most bad things aren't actually that bad so if anything bad does happen I usually just laugh about it. Death and relationship "troubles" are about the only two things I can think of that are bad and I wouldn't just laugh off.

Content leaning towards happy.

My everyday life is extremely routine and unchanging. There are certainly some things that could be better but I have it really good right now all the same.

Either living outside of poverty level or finding that special someone could easily tip the scales to happy.

I am content.
I wouldn't say happy, everything in my life is going well and I recently had an awesome time with my girlfriend, and there is the fact that my report will be awesome when I get it next week, but I am not one to walk around being happy so much as just being there. I don't mind, and I would probably need to be drugged up to the eye-balls to go every day in active happiness, so you could say I strongly approve of my current position in life and have little to be unhappy about and a lot to be happy about, even if it doesn't make me feel over the moon all the time.

I just can't stop picturing a person continually stating they're very happy whilst tears run across their cheeks for some reason.

Hmm...
I feel OK. Not completely content at the moment, but my future is looking good. Getting good grades at uni, planned masters degree, actually working with something I find interesting, etc.
But at the moment, I am kind of bored. I do not like the summer vacation, it is too long. I want the semester to start earlier so I can get more time to read.
