I am more knowledgeable in some fields than my mother and father, but I doubt I'm more intelligent. My mother is especially shrewd with law and money. My dad is definitely my better in practical knowledge.

I'm largely a master of skills/intelligences that don't get much use, I should have and could have stayed with the military and gone into intelligence, reconnaissance or something spy or tactics oriented. I'm very good with psychology, sociology and the related sciences. I am terrible at math, accounting and chemistry. Instead I'll be taking all of this and putting it to use in game development after I go back to college.
My Father holds a masters in business with honors from the University of Liverpool and is now putting that to use after his retirement from the military as an officer. His original trade was air weapons control (similar to air traffic only bringing planes together instead of apart, if you get my meaning) As such it was necessary for him to be quite the math wiz. The business side of things comes in to play with his much better understanding of how money can be put to work for a person instead of a person working for money, I have a really difficult time understanding many of those things, and prefer to keep my money simple. My father is also a fairly decent carpenter and handyman, which I learned from him.
My mother's educational background is in psychology (not sure what type of degree) She is terrible at math but very good with English. It bothers me very much that she no longer works in psychology and works in retail, however that is her choice and she has far more wisdom and life experience than I do at this point in my life.
And for bonus my sister is a great photographer with aspirations to go into architecture (with the brains to do that).
Take from this what you will, but I am definitely not smarter than my parents as we have our strengths and weaknesses.

I'm smarter than my parents in everything except Accounting and Nuclear Physics. That'd be my mother and father respectively. I mother knows every tax write off and how to balance any budget. My father served on one of the first nuclear subs in the U.S. Navy and was employed at a power plant upon leaving the Navy. Everything else is just a given.
Considering they both went to Cambridge and I'm... not going to Cambridge, I think I can answer with a resolute 'no'.
I don't think I am smarter than either of my parents in overall intelligence, but I think I am smarter than them in a couple areas. For example I know I am better than my mom at math.
I'm smarter than my mother, but my father is absolutely fucking brilliant. I have a way to go if I want to match him.
Yes.. Yes I am.. I have the small mountain of electronics and computers that my parents have ruined to prove it...
I'm not smarter than them because I don't know anything about finances, real estate, taxes, how to balance a check book, running a business, raising children, how to make engineering projects, how to program, or how to live on my own.Joseph Valdez said:

And my mom has book-smarts and knows more about medical stuff and art and humanist sciences.
My IQ is higher, but I don't think too highly of that system for measuring intelligence.

This, I tthink the same about me and my parents. We can talk about most things at a same level of understanding. Although I went to university and neither of them been to.Commissar Sae said:

Now I'm no epistemologist, but I'm of the belief that intelligence can not be quantified, different people excel in different areas and while I wouldn't consider myself too cerebral I'm happy with being a relatively articulate and intelligent individual.
I definitely think I am smarter academic wise and common sense wise, but as far as life experience goes they had the chance to learn from so many mistakes that they know how to do a lot of crap I dont know how to and that is the kind of stuff I want them to pass on to me.
