I'm generally only "that guy" when I'm playing in tournaments or against people I don't know. If it's with friends and family, why go all out? It's just for fun, right? Nothing sucks the fun out of a friendly game like a guy who'll do ANYTHING to win.
I'm that guy amongst my friends. I'm not hardcore, a good player could kick my ass, but I am that guy in my small group (except in L4D, then I get my ass kicked).
I'm only that guy when it comes to MW1/2. Any other game and I'm just as good as my friends. I like to win but I don't want to be miles ahead of everyone and act like a douche about it too.
Nope, I'm not that person. Mostly because despite the number of years I've been gaming, I absolutely suck at versus mode on any FPS when playing against my sister (She's more of the run & gun type while I strategize and ambush.)
Which basically translates into "I can kick her ass as a Boomer on L4D"
When it comes to Rock Band/Guitar Hero, I am "that guy" - i'm better than everybody I know (on guitar and drums), and am better than pretty much every person I've ever played online (although there are a few exceptions).
it totaly depends on the game played. I am for some strange reason awesomly amazing and generally godlike on every shooter i've ever played. I got MVP on cod4 the first time I played it.
