Poll: Arnold vs Washington

Okay, Denzel Washington and Arnold Schwarzenegger have met on the field of battle, and can only fight in melee. Who wins, if both are capable of using anything around them that might be on a modern battlefield that can be used to hit someone with? What about ancient weapons, more akin to Conan's time?

I have seen pics of Arnold in various states of badassitude (read: shirtless) for the movies he is working on right now. My money is still on him being more muscular and stronger than Denzel, unless it comes down to stamina. Then it is anybody's game...

I assumed that within the rules (use whatever you can to beat your opponent) that Arnold would just pick up a tree (check out Commando on blu-ray)and crush Denzel's manly ass head in.

Well, if we're talking spears, Arnold would be at a disadvantage due to his greater girth. Any other melee weapons and Danzel doesn't stand a chance.

I can't even tell you what movies I've seen with Denzel Washington in them, except for the one where he's a ATF guy that can go back in time and I can't even tell you the title of that picture. He might of also been the guy that said the line "YOU WANT MY BLOOD? HERE! TAKE MY BLOOD!.... Actually that film might of been the Negotiator.

But Arnold? Terminator 1, 2, The Sixth Day, Running Man... list goes on.

In a real fight? Denzel. I think Arnold's too nice a guy to fight dirty or with his full force.

Wait wasn't that the whole point behind the last Rocky movie?

That if you don't have dexterity and speed, you can make up for it by making sure each punch is a "a hurting bomb"?

Yeah, but in in a fight between two fighters of equal skill, the smaller one is at a serious disadvantage, the being quicker does not help him an iota. If Arnold manages to connect with a punch, Denzel will be destroyed.
And in order to be able to hit Arnold, Denzel does not only have to get within Arnold's reach but get closer still, effectively moving through a zone where no matter where he is, Arnold will be able to reach him with his arms. And assuming that Arnie is not a complete moron, which I deem unlikely, he could probably land a few blows to the head before Denzel even got close enough to hit him, which would end the fight very fast.

And whilst muscles do not win a fight, they do amplify the strength of your punches, since they can help bringing your fists up to momentum and then add a nice bunch of weight to the fray.
They also serve as a form of armor, which is why even if Denzel managed to connect a full force blow anywhere on Arnold but his nose, he would probably break his wrist in the process if he was not exquisitely careful.
