Poll: Ashes to Ashes?

It was great, I had a horrible feeling in my gut all week that they were going to ruin everything Life on Mars and Ashes to Ashes built up to with an ending showing Gene in a bad light/just being a bad ending in general, so was very very relieved when the ending was as good as it was.

I did especially love the the bit at the very end, showing that this is the cycle of Genes life, and how he was about to use the same line from the very beginning of Life on Mars.

Absolutely superb, I was beginning to wonder at the stars thing and the random music but everything seemed to tiein just nicely. An awesome story line and just goes to show a series doesn't have to be 20 episodes long just to get through one (a story line that is).

I voted Brilliant. I never saw or even heard of the show you speak of but Ashes to Ashes is also a song by David Bowie that I really like.

Ashes to Ashes the David Bowie song is amazing. That's what I think.

Amen. I listened to the new MGMT album now that you recommended, it's awesome. Really short but good. It's working, Flash Delirium and Congratulations are so good that the rest pales in comparison. Anyway, thanks for the tip.

Thought it was on the line between all right and loving it.

I guessed what was going on from the start of this episode (about 10 mins in), but the whole series had me guessing (I missed the first, just seen the second two - and never saw the final series of Life on Mars either).

There were some absolutely awesome, "subtle" bits though:

1) the Life on Mars themetune playing towards the end.
2) "Give me back my fucking iPhone!"

Pretty good season ending, the best of anything on (terrestrial) TV for a while now - but makes me wonder WTF to watch on iPlayer these days now. Just got Luther left to fulfil my "cop quota" for the week

Really don't know what to make of it, a lot of this series wasn't brilliant, the finale was better, but rather WTF?.
Also, given the whole, they're all dead thing, what would have happened to Viv?

Still not as good as Life on Mars though, that show was too epic for words.

I think Viv went to hell. I think Keates was the Devil (from the scene where he tries to take Shaz, Chris and Ray in a downward elevator) and if I remember, when Viv was dying, he reacted with fear when he saw Keates was with him. Perhaps he realised who he was and where he was going to go?

Much of the series was mediocre to good. The finale was awesome.
