Wow.. as someone who continually claims to be a bassist, I hope you're joking. You are not a bassist if you do not know who Geddy Lee is.Aunel said:Are canadians good bassists?
Well, okay, here it goes.Asturiel said:I care, I'm curious!

The Canadians I meet are always (absolutly always) nice and polite, is it a Canadian thing to be nice.
Canada.

I don't know about the others, but I get along fine with English-speaking Canadians.reg42 said:Do French-Canadians and English speaking-Canadians get along?
Yeah, we usually get along well with each other. But once we start talking about whose language is better - then the fists usually come up. hahaha; but other than that - all canadians get along pretty well with each other.Dublin Solo said:I don't know about the others, but I get along fine with English-speaking Canadians.reg42 said:Do French-Canadians and English speaking-Canadians get along?

I had to link Canada to bass somehow, this was the easiest way.StriderShinryu said:Wow.. as someone who continually claims to be a bassist, I hope you're joking. You are not a bassist if you do not know who Geddy Lee is.Aunel said:Are canadians good bassists?
actually, one or two correction there. you can stop after the 4th year of high school if you are older than 16, and start a DEP.Dublin Solo said:Well, okay, here it goes.Asturiel said:I care, I'm curious!
We have 6 years fo elementary school (7 if you count kindergarten).
Then 5 years of High School.
Following that, you have three options (and note that the acronyms stand for the French definition, since I have no idea how to say that in English):
* DEP: Technical school, more focused on technical skills than theory (electricians, plumbers, mecanicians, lots of others). And I insist on the fact that these are important jobs, regardless of what mothers think in general.
* Professional DEC: You go in a college we call "Cegep", and spend a minimum of three years in a technical program. Even though those are labeled "technical", lots of work and study in general are involved. Available programs touch pretty much evertyhing: health care (nurses, laboratory technicians, dieticians), IT (programmers and technicians), design, cinema, fashion...
* Preparatory DEC: Also in a Cegep. That program lasts two years, and its goal is to prepare students for university, depending on what you want to study in.
Then, it's university, it that applies. Someone with the professional DEC can go to university afterwards, since credits earned are usually recognized.
Most of the time, but there's asshole in both side. I,ve wiork a lot in retail, and i've seen people looking to me in disgust because i said bonjour instead of hi, and asking me : "young lady we are in canada speak in english"reg42 said:Do French-Canadians and English speaking-Canadians get along?
